Thread: The Code Fix
I'm wrong about the exploit? How? I /bug'd it myself.
1. I had a non-ID in my group use the /imagedesignsetvalue command on me, and I got a confirmation popup. This was an example of performing a change while not having the skill. I saw it myself and /bug'd it.
2. At a less-than-master level, I used the command to change my own torso setting. This was an example of performing a change I hadn't earned. I did this myself and /bug'd it.
3. There is a thread on this very board about a Zabrak male wearing a bright blue mohawk. Read it.
It was on another server so I didn't see this particular guy. However, I was able to show myself with human hairstyle, Trandoshan head ridges, Bothan hair, etc. This is an example of putting the wrong hairstyle on the wrong species.
4. Since I am a Zabrak, I already have tattoos, soI couldn't test the tattoos-on-humans thing without incriminating an accomplice. The only person I know of to have tried it was Kwee, and she said it didn't work. This is the only one that I can't directly confirm, but the game engine did not say, "Sorry, you're a human, you don't get tattoos" or "you haven't earned this skill yet." As far as I know, the tattoos just didn't "stick" but the game didn't forbid you from doing it, no error message... it just didn't take.
5. /imagedesignsetvalue hair -1 causes the client to crash. Did this myself too.
6. /imagedesignsetvalue eye_shape actually changes eye_angle. Even the words are messed up!
I regret that we can't get more neat styles to play with. This would have been a way to give us what we want. I suspect that because they shut down the exotic styles and colors they probably won't give us the neat stuff we're asking for, and that's a shame. Why block perfectly good code if that's what we wanted anyway? But I /bug'd those things because they were broken. Sorry. The devs got carried away with their fix and didn't actually fix the stuff we really need. ![]()

Torso numbering is backward. I think it's from -128 (max size) to 128 (min size). Maybe it's -255 to +255, I can't remember, but it is backward. I haven't done it in quite a while but I think they keyword was torso.

fishwan, you are wrong. what you got was the preview window that asks you to accept of refuse. had you tried to accept the change, the image designer would have been notified that they did not have the skill required to perform the change, and the user would have instantly reverted back to his original state.
you could NOT force change on someone. im sorry, but if it happened to someone...they accepted it. there are only 3 commands for image design, unless /imagedesignconsent still worked at the time, the change could not go through unless the user clicked on accept. if consent was working at the time (i do not know if it ever worked) then changes would likely be autoaccepted by the targeted user (provided they gave you consent).
the only exploits that existed (again) are the following:
1) you could adjust your height to be tiny, or gigantic. that was fixed some time ago.
2) you could cross the species and sex boundaries in giving a target changes. this i dont see as a problem, provided its kept realistic. humans with green hair is very realistic, and i dont see why its not allowed. moncals with hair on the other hand...anyone running around like that needs to be drawn and quartered, the the ID that did it do them needs to be publically maimed.
Am I missing something?

P.S. you can fix someone who's bugged with that stinkin "So and so already has an outstanding image design offer". Just select off of the affected person (if it's you, select someone else.. ) then type /im. Next, select the affected person and use /imagedesignsetvalue to offer them any change at all... tell them to refuse and it clears the bug.
Does anyone know an easier way to fix this?
Yeah I was trying it on myself. I had myself targetted. I brought the window up and did the setvalue. Nothing.
I'll try the eye color one tonight.
I'm sorry you insist upon being right, fluid. ![]()
To begin with, I never saw anybody forced into a change they weren't able to preview or decline (but how would I know anyway?). I was never able to force a change on anyone (but I didn't try). All I heard were stories about people who changed their friends or enemies on a lark and then didn't change them back -- I can't say from my own knowledge whether they got an Accept/Refuse box. I don't evenremember ever claimingforced IDwas possible, though I may have said other peopletold meitwas so. Please take that claim up with someone who says they saw it directly.
I did see a confirmation window pop up on me, used by a non-image designer. I clicked Refuse, so I don't know now what would have happened then if I'd tried to accept. But I saw the confirmation dialog box and /bug'd it. (Knowing I was playing with an exploit, I didn't want to accept it and incriminate my friend.) I still maintain that a non-image designer should not be able to use the command at all. The game shouldn't catch them later on, when the victim tries to accept... it should never get to that point, ever. But it did -- I saw it. (I repeat, I dunno what would've happened if I'd said yes. And since I'm an ID, I can't say what the game's response is to a non-ID.) You don't get to click /survey and the game only catches you at it after it does the animation and searches for a resource. You don't get to click /headshot and the game only catches you if you registered a successful hit. /imagedesignsetvalue did no check of any kind until afterit was ready to execute, and since it didn't check before, I /bug'd it.
I really think we agree on everything here. The command was broken in many ways. I reported what I could confirm with certainty. As I noted last post, if I hadn't seen it myself, I said that it was second-hand. Please stop throwing around "right" and "wrong." What's important is that the command was broken and now it has been fixed (maybe fixed too well, but no matter).

how do you change hair style?? its not /imagedesignsetvalue hairstyle
anyone know??
also how do you do skin color??
Does anyone know the code to type in toaccept or reject an image design change?
I get my boyfriend to help me level ID by being my model, but it would help a lot if he could make a macro and just hit a keyboard key to accept the changes instead of clicking with the mouse.
