Image Designer Archive
Thread: Lets talk about something else
I agree with having some sort of model for the clothing. The default female-only model looks godawful when you're trying to do wedding displays (Hi, we're in Massachusetts today). Also, some of the male-only features, like the tie on the suit shirt, will not show up on display. Some skirts look really really good on guys, but you woudn't know it unless you could try it.
Also - I KNOW this has been mentioned - I would love to be able to ID vendors. People get the ugliest vendors, and can't choose hairstyle, weight, etc. If they can wear pretty outfits, they should be able to be image designed.
As for why I decided to play an ID - that was the ONLY reason I was interested in this game! I wanted to tweak hair, skin color, etc. I spent hours on character creation, it was so much fun. And so far it's been great - people are picky, but it's their avatar and they don't have the option of saying after a couple hours - ummm naw, let's try that in blue. Sure, I've had my horror stories about people who stiff on the tip or bombard me in the starport with rude requests in atrocious grammar, but generally it's been great. Rarely does someone leave my tailoring shop without me remarking "good lord, do you MEAN not to have a chin?" and getting a tweak or two.
People think that image designer are "useless" but that's not true. This is an RPG. Character looks are CRUCIAL to roleplay. If you're not happy with your avatar, you're not happy with the game.
