Thread: New Image Designer Screenshots
hmm.. well I have to say this will bring new life to the costume parties that were popular when the game began.
Yay for holo emotes!
First of all: Nice Sneak Preview!
I don't get it why there are a lot negative postings about the Screenshots. Why?
They have provided us a nice sneak preview to the Friday feature and only showed the Tents that are already in live (unusable) and some holo-emotes.
=> We DON'T know how they are applied
=> We DON'T know how long they last
=> We DON'T know how expensive they are
=> We DON'T know if any special device needs to be used.
and so on.
If 1 Holo-Emote Session costs 20k and you can use it 5 times and it takes 10min to apply I'm sure not many Guys will AFK use it. 5 Spams and it's gone ,)
So why don't wait till Friday or TC gets the update to get some more informations about the features.
I remember some cool other stuff that should also be in the Mini-Publish (Tatooe, Hair Stuff and so on ... not sure if it got its place there but we'll see)
I can understand talking about the EU, Books, Movies and yeah : It isn't specifically written about holo-emotes. But if a ID could use/attach a implantat on your eyes that generate some holo stuff and so on it WOULD be possible - in SWG and SW. And common: Would you like only Monocrom or Blue Holo? Nah all would say: WHY DO YOU ONLY USE BLUE! blahblah ... I'm sure they will think twice next time if they do a sneak preview of some nice stuff.
Bye,
Thogek
the shots all show the emotes in a tent, so couls they be somthing to do with for example , the ID is changing your hairstyle - you get a shampoo and set- hence the bubbles, the skull - maybe a facial features chage thing, the pink cat- well you git me there but it could be somthing to do with makeup.
my question is when will ID's skills be usable for loseing that BH ? come on, why else would a non ent want to change their appearance. surely if you have a bounty on you and you go to a ID you should be able to change enough that the BH cannot find you quite as easaly!!
Grats to you IDs. You guys deserve it. I cant wait to see what all you guys can do. I hope they put in cool stuff for some of us folicularly chalanged species.... I know!!!! I want my scales keeled! You know the ridges that go down the middle of some snakes scales? ie rattlesnakes, hognosed snakes and gaboon vipers..
Woot this lizzard wants keeled scales. ![]()

A couple thousand credits for the idea you think would generate a lot of money for us? That wouldn't even buy you a Kwee haircut

I don't get it. Who's going to actively go out and pay an ID for these things after the first week or two of release? Would enough people be amused by them after seeing them once or twice to actually count as useful content. I picture the market for holo-emotes dropping below that of fireworks once the 'ooh, bubbles on my head!' reaction dies down, leaving IDs with not much more other than new colors and bug fixes to perk customer interest.
If IDs really wanted an income-generating feature that appeals to a large group of players, even non-entertainer types, they should have asked for an ability to make holo-recordings of items and characters (to be placed in houses and /examined to view stats). Even if it required them to use an Artisan-crafted holo-projector, I probably would have spent my Tuesday morning buying 10 projectors, grabbing a bunch of items from my house and pulling a couple thousand credits out of my bank to tip an Entertainer/ID for the service. I'll probably spend my real Tuesday morning checking the board to hear if any of the other ID content is notable.

I enjoy most of the new stuff put into this game, some of the stuff I don't care for and just ignore. But this, this is by far the most useless thing that has been put into the game thus far. I mean...what were you thinking? /shake I'm gonna start ranting, I'll leave that to someone else.
I just hope that there will be a way to turn this off, or I may have to play with the monitor off.
Although if there was a picture of Pacman above my head 3-D, that would be hardcore.
And you can continue to ignore it. Its not for you shooter-boy...so get over it...move on and stop spouting useless words. Its a role-playing game...for ones with no IQ...get a dictonary and look it up.
Most of my dissapointment was because I can't dye my fur or have sparles in it.
I don't think it is immersion-breaking. Anyone who says it is must immediately go into their inventory and delete all composite armor! I may have missed something, but I swear 50% of the movie population didnt run around buffed and in composite. However, if we went totally "star-warsy" then only GCW fighters and BHs could wear armor at all, armor-smiths would be out of jobs, and the game would have a lot less depth.
I will still be lining up at the ID tent when this comes out to try out every emote I can afford!
As a wookiee Ranger I would love to have a temporary "camo-leaf" fur dye pattern. /dreamy But until then I will enjoy the flash and dash of holo-emotes.

I feel bad for all the ID's who have to put up with all the BS in this thread. This is *their* forum and just because they got some Dev attention and showed up in Dev Tracker they have to have all this BS on their forum.
For al lthe ppl who wish this was a FPS *shove it!*. This is a MMORPG..that's right...ROLE PLAYING GAME. just because you're a *edit* in RL doesn't mean you have to roleplay one too!

You inconsolable buffoon-- this is a ROLE-PLAYING GAME, not a "roll-playing" game...
A "role" is something someone attempts to portray, a "roll" is something one does with dice. Only a pro-ID moron would make this mistake and actually post it where others could see. This is just the type of insipidity thhat is ruining America and has already ruined the rest of the world.
While I am happy that ID's are getting some lovin from the Dev's, I must say this is the most pointless thing I have ever seen in a game. Floaty icon bubbles are not just very un-Star Warsy but also completly pointless. Without ragging on the ID's who like this idea, do you guys really think players will want this or pay you for it?
As a non ID, I was looking forward to going to see you guys after the revamp to get new tatoo's and maybe an easier to use interface to customise my character, floating icon have not and will not ever be on my list.
I do hope the devs put in an option to turn these things off tho and they just look dumb.

....This is an eye-roller, for sure. It has everything to do with adding something new to the game, nothing to do with making the world feel more like living in the Star Wars Universe. The fact of the matter is that most people playing this game are here for the license -- they've wanted to play a MMRPG set in the world of the films. I would love to see the IDs get more art, but is it unreasonable to ask that the new art fit into the tone of the license and the universe?
I know what bothers me about it now -- subtlety. It lacks subtlety. They have all the subtlety of an anvil. Giving IDs particle effects to deal with isn't a bad idea in and of itself. Little sparkles added to one's hair, for instance. An accent. A bit of fashion. Instead we have these giant, cartoony logos that hover over our heads. They're more like billboards than fashion statements. They're less like, say, holographic earrings and more like enormous holographic sandwich boards.
Sorry, I know some folks went to a lot of work for these, but personally, I hope they don't make it past Test Center.
