ok today i thought i would help a id grind, i had been seeing many many many more MID around, thought wow this is popular. then i but my auto accept macro on and whoo the ID sessions were flashing by in 2 secs. this is wrong i spant 2 weeks of hard long days to master this. im am upset. a newb is going to get the same credibility as me and they olny worked 3 hours!! so now they make the same mony and can do every thing i can but with way less work, i alredy felt bad for those MID who had to wait 40 mins for a stat migration. i came at the time it took 4 mins for a stat migration. im seeing to many newb mastering like this. i fell this is very wrong!!

The fast grind never mattered before, & it doesn't matter now. Image Design is a profession where the master title means absolutely nothing unless the person knows what they are doing... especially now that stat migrations are going away. The "True" masters will always be in demand,& will never be hurting for business... while those that are clueless will end up dropping ID quicker than they picked it up... even if it was only 3 hours.

Welcome to the old days
This is how it used to be, before the ID patch. People could master in a day.
At least we did get the new interface out of it.

As I've said before, the short grind isn't really significant now. The only people bothering to do it are the people who actually WANT to play an ID, and I don't know about your server, but we could use more ID's on Tarquinas. It's not like ID is a support character (well to anyone except me
). Combat players aren't going to grind one as an alt.

I know of one hologrinder who bragged that he mastered ID in 45 minutes.
As I have said before, anyone can master ID. It takes talent to be GOOD at it and get repeat business. Without migrations, the people who don't care about the artistry in ID will leave the profession.

As I said before this is a very simple tradeoff... Nobody wants to sit hours and hours in that Prison of style with only very slow progress to master ID. It is boring, it is a pain in the... er you know what I mean.
Since it would have been way too much effort right now to change the way how IDs level and get experience so that it is more fun (for example by implementing a total quest-oriented leveling system or something similar) the only way to get rid of this totally boring and painfull grinding-experience was to drastically lower the time you need for it.
This does not mean, that the devs don't want to create a system for gaining skills that is more fun than what we have now. They really want to do it, but they simple don't have the time for it right now with the Combat Upgrade, the Rage of the Wookiee expansion and the long overdue smuggler revamp on their plates.
It might not be the perfect solution, but for now its the one that was manageable and that would help us the most under the given circumstances.
PS: Btw: You don't need to use overlarge fonts to emphasize your opinion or concerns. We all here are neither "deaf" nor "blind" so there is no need to "shout". This is just a seriously ment advise. If you use such oversized fonts all the time the comunity (not only IDs) tend to take your concerns less seriously and I doubt this is what you want, do you?

I think the new update is gr8.
I mastered ID twice before the timers came in and i always wanted to grind it out again with my alt but i really didnt have the time to sit for a week or 2 to do it. But now ive finally mastered it again with my alt in about 4 or so hours and im loving it all over again.
Most professions can now be mastered quicky so i dont c the problem.

I'm pleased. I finally made my alt and only get to play about an hour every other day or so, but wanted her to be an ID, too. Well, after two days she's about 1/4 of the way there, but I'll make it eventually, and it's what I like doing. If grinding still took timers and months (for me) of mindless clicking I wouldn't have bothered.
Sure, everyone will be an ID for a while, but after how hard it's been to find an ID lately, the rest of the players should enjoy being able to find one for once. Besides, a Master title doesn't make for a good ID. Work on your skills and your customer service and you'll do fine.

I applaud the change. I felt the timer thing was wrong from the start and I am real glad to see it go.
I stopped at Novice ID, as that allowed the stat migrations, and I just could not be bothered with that <insert expletive> timer any more. Since 14.1 I have now mastered and I love playing around with all the options open to me. Expect to see a lot more holo-emotes all over as well. AS most people (like me) only went to novice we never got to give people those.
It was never a SP issue, the timers just plain sucked.

Yeah, it seems to be the general opinion that while our grind was WAY too easy before (the last time I mastered ID I did it in forty minutes), the timers were NOT the answer. I'm glad they're gone.

ok ok small font. so ok other people mastering waht we do in 45 mins, well i spent 3 weeks gringing on im because i really wanted it. others would work at it if they really wanted it. we got newb master ims comin out of our ears on bria. on other servers this is ok but bria is over run with ims. ive lost 80% of busness and income since the timer removal. if they have made it this easy to master im then the ims who spent weeks gringing to get the same then others get in 45 mins, i think we should get a reward of some sort. i will have to cool my jets, because i see the devs are busy. but conder changing somthing, im felling i deserve some kind of reward for peending 3 weeks grinding. well i dont know......
