Thread: Summary of suggestions made in response to Runesabre's questions: Please voice your thoughts

Here is what we have so far (that has not already been or that I sense would not beno'no'd by the devs). Sorry I can't give credit for the unique ideas, didn't think to write names down And of course there are also the ideas in our State of the Profession. Please weigh in on the ones you like and don't like. Which ones would be most likely to increase ID business (e.g. last names might rarely be requested). And if any of theseinspire new ideas, let's hear them



  1. Speed up stat migration for a set amount of time

  2. Disguise- Lower negative faction

  3. Disguise - removes TEF

  4. Spices alter your appearance over time

  5. Disguise - Harder for bounty hunter droids to track you

  6. Make poster ads for merchants/politicians to put up in bazaar or billboard in town, for events

  7. Disguise - Re-covert Overts

  8. Charisma type bonuses – higher mission payouts, politician bonuses, better ent buffs given

  9. Revert to scruffy look after some time, have to visit ID

  10. Change last names

  11. Create brands with unique fonts/logos/colors, can search by brand on bazaar.

  12. ID building equipment handlescritical functions. Sir Voor: "Steam-rooms for Weight Loss, massage chairs for Stat Migration, and Hot Tubs for detoxitying) Like harvester have Image Designer have to maintain them, adding energy and water as needed. I like ideas that make people want to visit ID's but not have to visit ID's.


Me likey:


  1. Speed up stat migration for a set amount of time

  2. Disguise- Lower negative faction

  3. Disguise - Harder for bounty hunter druids to track you

  4. Charisma type bonuses – higher mission payouts, politician bonuses, better ent buffs given

  5. Change last names

All the above changes are not necessary, but they are useful, and fit into our "disguise" profession


ME NO LIKEY!!!



  1. Create brands with unique fonts/logos/colors, can search by brand on bazaar. I don't know if we want to go into the business of having crafters harass us for services on every single item. This would be more tedious than crafting ourselves.

  2. ID building equipment handlescritical functions. Sir Voor: "Steam-rooms for Weight Loss, massage chairs for Stat Migration, and Hot Tubs for detoxitying) Like harvester have Image Designer have to maintain them, adding energy and water as needed. And maybe having them have a minium effect when the IDer is not there, and maxium effect then the IDer is actively there" What use will the customer have for us if they can visit a building which does it for them!!! Don't take content away from the in-person image designer.

  4. Revert to scruffy look after some time, have to visit ID

  5. Spices alter your appearance over time

3, 4, and 5 are too much of a pain. Like vehicle customization, people will get frustrated with the upkeep and simply stop caring. They will resent us as a profession because they have to either see us or become hideous. In addition, there will be fashion emergencies - which many of us did not sign on for. All of a sudden people will need ID now now now - and with our small numbers that could be disasterous. Contrary to some schools of thought, I don't believe our numbers will grow with such "useful" abilities.


Maybe:



  1. Disguise - Re-covert Overts

  2. Disguise - removes TEF

  3. Make poster ads for merchants/politicians to put up in bazaar or billboard in town, for events

These depend on whether we really really want to get into crafting, and whether there is risk involved in disguising overts/coverts. Also, how would the overt thing work? Would we have to be of the same faction? Would it be instant or would we perform the same function as a recruiter, essentially starting the "countdown" to covert status? Would removing TEF give us a TEF? Would we have to be of the same faction?

The whole weight gain,spice mae you ugly,get scruffy looking things i dont like much.

Smugglers,and chefs would lose a good deal of image concious customers.

I think the brands for people selling on the bazaar was meant to be a one time only thing. So from now on the person had a snazzy brandname.


Oops on the bounty hunter druids hehe.

Lets see, I like 1, 8, 10, and 12. These are all things that have a wide benefit to players and aren't a realy hassle. 2, 3, 5 and 7 might be possibilities, but it would need to be thought about carefully. I don't want a TEF and I don't want to be flooded with people trying to change their status and keeping me from doing the fun part of image designing. I am against the rest because I don't want people to resent having to go to an image designer and I don't want chefs and smugglers resenting us for having something that hurts their business put into the game.

Oh. When I say I like 12 (ID buildings) I was thinking particularly for something like stat migration. I don't want to have to be around everytime someone wants to change between wearing armor and not wearing armor.

A building for stat migration would be nice. Maybe the ID has to first "do" something to the client, and then he or she is free to run about the countryside and migrate, or migrate faster in the building. I just don't want the building to become a proxy for any of the content we already have - because we need more, not less.

Disguise-Temporary resets allfactions to zero this give disguises a pro and con to using them and make players only use them when the time is right and reason notto be using a disguise 24/7. the ranger forum has some Very nice input into disuises.

ID should not be a profession that is "required" or forced using weight gain over time or bad side effects from spice.
