So I'm talking with my husband on my Wanderhome character and mention that I have to switch servers soon because I have an ID appointment on Corbantis at 1:45. I said I am hoping to impress the client because he has a lot of well-off friends and word of mouth is my bread and butter. He says it's not that hard to give people what they want (ha!! "no...back one...not that one...maybe the one you had a few minutes ago...now what about that in blue?") and that he doesn't tip IDs that get creative on him. He commented that it bothers him when he gets ID'ed then has to go find another ID to fix what the previous one "messed up" I told him he has the option of not accepting the changes. He said "yeah, but it's more fun making them feel they wasted their time for nothing. Make them know how I feel, lol"
Why are people so frigging arrogant and what not towards tip based professions? GAH! I just wanted to smack him across the head.

He'll only be like that until he realizes word of mouth really does work and all the IDs are messing him up on purpose.
ID A: Psst! I know that guy - he's rude and will accept anything you give him!
ID B: *giggle* /think Hmmm... magenta mowhawk and a gotee with no chin...

Alright here's what you do, go out and find EVERY ID, and make sure, they know what he does! So the next time he wants an ID, they'll say no!

I've never been a tip-based profession myself, but I came into SWG from watching furplay's videos, like the Fett's Vette video. Since they've dedicated several videos to pointing out the problems with the entertainer community and its relations with the rest of the game, I came into Star Wars pre-sympathetic to the needs of the non-combat, non-crafter professions.
What I do about people like this, and what I really wish I could get others to start doing, is to tip like holy craziness to every ID, live dancer/musician (the live part is important) or tailor who takes the time to make you an outfit to order. These people do their professions pretty much for fun and out of the goodness of your heart, while combat professions let the millions pile up. So, occassionally, just drop a 500k tip on that entertainer who was willing to have a conversation with you and play the song you requested, and if they notice and say thanks, do it again, and again.
Its my hope that, if my ID gets a million credit tip from a decent person every so often, it might just keep that ID doing what they do. And, even better, if you ever need an ID, Ent, or Tailor, you now have one that *likes* you, and might be willing to travel to where you are that one time you really need one in a hurry.
There's more to power and influence in the world than accumulating the most stuff. Having an army of wealthy and upbeat support personel is its own blessing I say

I completely agree. I have one jedi that I *ALWAYS* ID. He pays me 50k unles he gets emotes, then he pays more. ALWAYS. I do a fine job with him, and he always wnats tons of stuff done, and I show lots of patience, always encouraging him and offering advice when it needs to be. I travel to him, as he is a mid level jedi, and bh's are after him constantly. He always is very courteous and I know he appreciates me doing so much for him. When he calls, I get to him as soon as i reasonably can. People appreciate things like this. On tempest server, my alt is pretty much the main along with maybe 1, 2 others, the main ID's there. She's always at Cnet for the most part, unless in space or hunting group on Dant. She's probably the only MasterID/Riflewoman you'll see.
