Thread: ID need /diagnose Ability!!!

I dont mind that I cant stat migrate someone with wounds, but if someone has only one wound and I dont notice it then poof, 4 minutes wasted. Yes, I could be responsbile and make a macro that says ...

"If you are looking for a stat migration, please keep in mind that you cannot accept a migration if you have ANY wounds. Please be sure all wounds are healed before asking for a stat migration session."

But you know, that gets old. Why not just give us the ability to /diagnose or /checkwounds or something and then all we have to say is ... go get healed up first hun.

I hate this new not being able to migrate with wounds. I understand that it was necessary to solve other issues, but it has only given me yet another reason to hate giving stat migrations. Now not only does it have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the image design profession and is the only thing we do that REQUIRES a freaking timer ... yay and its the only thing that ppl come to us for for the most part, go figure ... but now it is a bigger pain in the @$$!!!

Im ready to log ... a customer comes in, so i decide ... ah, one more wont hurt.

Me: "What can i do for you hun?"
Client: "Stat migration"

Me: "Okay, but if you have any wounds, you need to get them healed first or it wont take"

Client: "Oh, ill brb then"

Me: "K (silently sighing wishing i hadnt opened my mouth)"

Me: (5 min later) "You still wanting that sm?"

Client: "Yeah, i cant find a doc ... give me a min"

Me: "Well hurry hun, i was just about to log"

Client: "Okay, but please dont log, ive been looking for an id for weeks"

Me: "K"

Me: (5 min later) "Ever find someone to heal you?"

Client: "Yeah, a buddy of mine is on the way. Give me just 5 more min"

Me: /sigh /stomp ulls on her headtails cussing and screaming "Okay"

Client: (10 min later) "You still there?"

Me: "Yeah, you almost done yet hun, i really need to get going."

Client: "Ah, dont worry about it then. Buddy crashed on me and i cant find anyone else."

Now, this situation forces ID to take up nov medic ... what if i dont have the extra skill points? And yes, this is an actual situation i was in last night only it ended with them actually getting healed 20m after heading out to look for a heal and finally coming back ... all together i spend 35 min for one stat migration. Now please someone tell me how it is fair for them to do this to us?

I just tell tell them (and am going to macro that):

"Due to new regulations, we are no longer allowed to migrate the stats of persons who are in any way wounded. If you are, please go see a doctor and an entertainer first."

I did get some weird answers though:

1) you're not imperial, you can break a rule

2) i'm not wounded...- uhm yes dear you are.

But indeed it would be nice to be able to check them for wounds without getting novice medic. (The person who said he wasn't wounded was quite visibly wounded - half his action bar was black but there are those with only one wound indeed). Or to get a message at the beginning of the session.

I fully agree that diagnose should be added with the stat mig, unless they implement a check for wounds when the box is checked, before the timer counts down.

I went ahead and grabbed novice medic to have the skill, and will be adding a macro explaining that wounds (any wounds) will keep the stat mig from going through

I have to laugh 3 people in a row when asked if they had any wounding at all said no,
all three receieved the error message and session aborted,
all 3 then said 'well i thought the 1 wound wouldn't matter'

Why is this so funny, they were all in same group and seeing that chat themselves...

either that or they were doing it on purpose to make fun of and greif you as an image designer

Nah no greif to me, they were only folks in tent and I get 15k upfront so its their money and time they get to waste

And after watching the chat after they left tent and forgot I was still in group they really thought individually that 1 wound would not matter * ha! I love epeople

Hmm, well, to be fair, I also thought something like 1 wound would not matter. I presumed the fix was to prevent perma-incap and abort the session *only*if your wounds exceeded your altered stats. I had no idea it would abort for *any* wounds at all.

I guess IDs and customers will have to adjust. But geeze, even Docs can still buff you wounded or with low BF. I'm sure the Devs didn't mean for the fix to be so harshly restrictive.

It is a result of the "fix" on the perma-incap, I'm sure of it. But I really don't think they intended for it to be this extreme. I think this is a bug or an error in programming plain and simple. If I'm wrong.... well... I'm not quitting or anything dumb like that, but I'll have to learn to live on Tailor wages until someone on top gets some sense and gets rid of this moronic glytch.

I think you are right here. They tried to fix the perma-incap-bug from stat migrations and were only half-successfull on the first try. Since you could still get incapped when you recieved more wounds between setting the stats and finally getting that migratrion. So the devs added this "check" for wounds when the migration itself takes place.

When I found out how they "fixed" this part I sent in a request to change the wound-check so that it verifies if the set stats are all higher than the current wound-level and move the check to when the ID starts the migration.Maybe it's sufficent to just change the nature of the check since in 4 minutes you can get new wounds again... I have seen stranger things happening.

No offense, but I don't want to be able to diagnose as an ID. I'm not a medic and I'm not a doctor.

There should be an indication at the *beginning* of the session that a migration won't work because of wounds, but it should not say how much or what kind of wounds the customer has. That sort of information is nothing we need to know.

Why not make it so combat/damage/wounds cancels the ID session?

Woo-hoo! Yay TechnoCan! Thanks for taking this issue to them. You rock.

I am lucky enough to have taken Novice Medic since day 1 of my char. I always had it because I do a lot of solo, and used to hunt. Wanted to be able to heal myself. Because of this I have the option of /diagnose-ing anyone before a migration. If anyone on Starsider see's me in a salon, feel free to request that I diagnose a customer. I'm willing to for free and for anyone.

Because I have faith in the "popes of SWG" I don't think we have to worry about it for too long. We're not the only ones who are complaining about this by any means. No need to give us a /diagnose function. Though that is a pretty funny idea... Combat Image Designer. lol!

I agree!

If we cant get a /diagnose, maybe they could allow stat migrates to actually heal wounds during the duration of the timer (4 mins). There can be a limit on how high the wounds can be before you have to find a medic or entertainer to get them healed. So, if you have wounds under say 50 or even 30, you are healed during the ID session. If they are over 30 or 50, you get a message saying "go find a healer, numbskull". Just a thought.

(edited: I nerfed the "bump" and brutally buried it in a deep hole in the back yard. How dare I...)

FYI: The mods here don't like post-bumping and will lock posts that are bumped regardless of their content, so please don't do it.

About woundhealing and IDs.... I don't see that happen. We are no healers, we are Image designers.
