Well everyone it looks like one of our most important issues; people being able to Master ID making our profession a joke, is returning.
They are doing this in preparation for the Combat Upgrade meaning we are going to be replaced by a bunch of newbs who dont know our profession and will set prices and take most of our customers. Did I mention they are giving us 16 skill points back?
All right in there. I like the Dancer and Musician changes but not these ID changes at all.

I'd take that over the timers any day! Back when ID was super-easy to master, we were still rare. People would become an ID for a day or two and drop it, not wanting to spend all the SP. It will be the same now, even with slightly lowered SP. It takes a certain type to want to spend the points being an ID. It also takes a certain type to stick with it after mastery and be any good at it.
I really do think that after an initial boom, our numbers will stabilize. It is true that our population will probably end up larger, not from the "tourists" who master one day and drop the next, but from people who truly and honestly wanted to be ID's but couldn't face the timer-grind.

It is really not an easy thing to balance out. On one side we want our master title to mean something, to be worth something, but on the other side as things currently are the way to get there is simply no fun at all. So the decission was made to shrink the painfull grind so we could get to the funny part of playing a Master ID much faster. It still takes longer than it took before the first revamp and you still need to do a lot of clicking so it's still not that trivial.

I am looking forward to the changes. Being a *good* ID will still be a rare and wonderful thing.... and people will figure out who the bad ones are pretty quickly. Just having the master title floating over your head doesn't mean you're good.
I can't wait to have the extra 16 points to spend elsewhere.

I agree... and I have characters that made Master ID when stat migrations took 10 minutes and were only worth 600 xp... so eye color (body changes)got me the most xp per minute clear through the entire grind.

I'm supremely unconcerned about this. Now that hologrinding is over, the only people that are going to bother with this are the people who WANT to be an ID. And those are still pretty rare.

Aye. I spose it is for the ebst. Tis true that the major one day grinders were just hologrinders which seems nice to me
At least I dont have to complain about Master IDs having a timer for self ID anymore. Although now it kinda feels like MID doesnt really offer that much more. You just get a few more points in a few things. Maybe some possible MID perks can be the ability to place an ID Terminal in a structure and then IDs can register on that if they are novice. OR the ability to ID Vendors and NPC Actors can go to MIDs
Some kind of perk that would make me feel that much more special would be nice.
The 16 skill points is a big refresh. I was worried I would have to drop some of my professions in order to prepare for my final tempalte, but that doesnt look to be the case thank goodness

Funny... Everybody here is speaking about the skill points. But what about these people who are 100% ID and don't care about any other profession ? What when it is the only source of income and socializing ? Who would honestly tip a decent amount of money for a scenario like : "Hello, I want blue eyes - Ok... *click... click*... done - Thanks *tip 200 credits*". Where's the social content ?? ID's will just turn into a NPC like profession (a bit like these NPC's trainers). Combattants will not even need to come to you for stats migration.
IMHO that is nerfing. Just plain old silly nerfing to render the game less social. Any comments ?

Yes! I have a very wide Customer Base. Mostly consisting of the same people who do care about their avatar's look and change it frequently. They will still keep coming back to me, and the most important customer and my biggest customer in fact, is myself. I self-ID more times a day then I hit num lock.

I agree with making the grind less harsh. I never minded the holo-grinders before because they never stuck with it, & because those people who wanted a good ID would seek out masters who really knew their stuff anyway. All the timers did was drive more away from the profession... they did absolutely nothing to help us.
Hopefully the devs will realize what we knew all along, & finally quit trying to nerf us & instead give us more abilities & roles in the GCW. What we need is the ability to ID vendors, craft disquises that players can use later for spy missions or evasion from the enemy, etc.
I don't think we really need our skill points lowered. We already are in the group of lowest point elite professions... 92 points is novice plus a single tree of a basic, plus four trees & master of an elite. What should be happening instead is removing the two tree requirements for dancer & musician so that they are also 92 points at master instead of 106. I would much rather see the healing tree of entertainer be replaced with a new tree that leads to an added entertainer profession, like singer, etc.
If we get to subtract 16 points to become a master, it's going to go from 92 to 76... & that means we will be the only elite profession that costs less points to master than it would for a BASIC profession, which all cost 77 points to master (I'm not talking about politician or pilot because they have been changed to be zero cost trades & not really professions).
If this happens we are going to have the rest of the player community pissed at us AGAIN because we are being given an advantage that they are being denied, or haven taken away from them as was done with the stat migrations.
