I have heard there are ways of grinding this profession in a few hours. I would like to know if any of you have any idea. Thanks

Since the patch there are no ways to grind the profession now, thank God. You can do some semi-macros, but you would still need to arrange the sliders/etc and hit committ when your timer runs out. The best advice I can give is find a Master who will be happy to sit down with you and let you practice on them.

Oh, and fix the entertainer profession....

Thank god for no macros!!before with macros you could do it in three hours with buffs, easily. My advice for image design is to level with eyes. I grinded eyes the entire time, started with eyeshadow, and went up. If you want to make money I suppose you can do stat migrations, I dunno how good of experiance it is, I was MID at publish.

Alas, too late. You should've ground out the easiest profession in the game to grind early on before it became one of the longest.

Hehe, you know that it's kind of funny that so many Powergrinders have postponed doing ID 'knowing' they could allways do it in a few hours only to see that they cannot 'grind' it out that way anymore now.

I know that's a bit mean, but somehow I feel some 'higher' justice at work here

Honestly, that's why I did it -- 'cause it was easy to grind out. But then I found I liked it, and have pretty much stopped the grind, since a lot of the classes can't be done now without me dropping the things I like doing.

Something needed to be done about grinding ID in a couple hours, yes. But they overdid it. Now, to master ID is nothing short of torture. A friend of mine who recently started playing SWG legitimately wanted to master ID. But the process is so boring and painful that she gave up. And as a non-master, noone would talk to her outside of stat migrations because a (low-level) non-master is so limited in their options.

Once you hit novice ID, the fastest way to level it up is to stat migrate someone. This requires someone to spend countless hours (33.3 hours of non-stop IDing to be exact -- we did the math) allowing you to stat-migrate them over-and-over. Most people don't have this option, so they must result to bodyform modifications on themselves and the time it takes then is 44.5 hours of non-stop ID. All that time starting at a stupid timer ticking down. The epitome of boring.

ID as a professioncan be very rewarding once a master, but the process to grind it now is so mind-knumbing that the only people who are IDs now are the people who were ID before the publish. My friendgave up on it, and so have other people I know who have tried starting it after the publish. Ultimately, this is bad and will kill off the ID profession as existing IDs leave/move on to other professions and there is no-one new to replace them.

I couldn't agree more... I was on my way to become an Image designer myself. Thought it would be a great suplement to my tailoring skills.

But no way in hell I'm going to stare mindlessly at my screen doing "nothing"for 40+ hours non stop while forcing some poor person to do the same just because I want to become master.

So I can't dye that poor twilek purple? So I can't put a neon green ponytail on that human? ... maybe it's for the better after all.

But I agree, the DEVS overdid this one by far and they know it!

I remember when it was common for people to play the game to level up.

You're very right. Casual playing ID and mastering it in a reasonable time span is just not possible and that's wrong. It's a pity that the devs have only considered grinders when they redesigned ID.
