No, it's not a smuggler. It's a musician. A master musician, at that.

Yesterday I was working on ID. I was of course doing lip color since it was the most efficient. There was a master musician there, and I'd bought some mind food. Focus, actually. My base focus was 400. The food was another 400. Then I'd listen to the musician. Every 15 minutes, I'd stop listening, get their mind buff, then start again.

At around 1600 focus, no image design skills used any mind at all. I was doing height modifications for 150xp a pop at that point, and not making a dent in my mind pool, nor were blue numbers showing up over my head.

The best part is there is no downtime, as associated with spice. Those who are like me and against spice abuse can do it. You can keep it up indefinately. Even if the food does wear off and it starts costing mind, your willpower buff should keep you going.

With someone fast at clicking accept, I suspect you could make master ID in a few hours like this.

Yep yep, this is how I got my early levels of ID done after I took Novice. Works beautifully if you have a good partner clicking.

Would you mind telling me the name of the food you used? I'm working on master image design and it's a slow slow process for me. There seem to be maybe 6 master image designers i know of on my home server Corbantis, so our population really needs to grow. I'm sure they're just hiding though... there's gotta be more than 6! Anyway, help and suggestions would be really appriciated.

Corellian fried ice cream is what I used. However just a master musician alone is enough to make a major improvement in the speed.

For the higher levels I used Muon Gold and Caf. Together, along with a Master Musician to tweak it up further, you can fly through levels if you have a patient and willing victim. Trying to find someone in the cantina is pretty fruitless and time consuming, much better to have a friend that wouldn't mind devoting some of their time to you. During the last stages I parked my butt at the ID trainer in Tyrena with my friend and just leveled and bought my skills which made it even faster. I never learned a single skill from another player, just paid for it all... This is one of the fastest and cheapest skills to level if done correctly. If you're on Bria (forget now) give me a yell some time and I'll help you out.

And with a master musician and a base focus of 500, I was able to get buffed enough with just the master musician (No spices, which my character avoids on general principal, and no food/drink either) that every image design action used no mind at all. The XP gain was amazing.

Why do you grind your profession?

Dancers get mind buffs yes, but it boosts mind pool. That doesn't help at all with how much you can do overall since you still use the same amount of mind, and still regenerate it just as fast.

I did some experimenting today because my guildmates were doing some songs. I took a muon gold while listening to a Master musician. I kept typing /stopli and /listen every 15 minutes. My base focus is 565 and base willpower is 515. Using a musician buff, I got my focus up to 4900 and my willpower up to 4700. I can get it up to about 3000/2700 without spice. I could probably get it higher, but the musicians had to log. I was doing lekku pattern changes that usually cost me 500 mind points for 0 mind. But I was doing that at around 1500 focus.

And why do I grind? I grind because there are only two Master Image Designers in my guild right now and they are swamped with tells. I'm grinding to master to help them out.

Hehe, here is a screen of when my focus hit about 4k. I didn't get a screen of the 4900 because I was trying to hit 5k and i lost some of the focus.

Excuse me for being a noob, but how exactly does a master musician do a mind buff? Does it happen just by watching them, or do they have to initiate it?

Being new, I don't have any friends to help - does approaching people and asking them work very well, or do they tell you to stop wasting their time?
