Thread: ID XP to FS XP ratio adjusted or no?

Tonight while I was looking at the process for buying up force sensitive trees, I did some math to figure out how to use ID xp to buy up the trees in the Senses branch (I want to be Persuasive and Lucky).

Does anyone know the current math for getting a full branch by grinding out ID XP? Based on an admittedly old 15:1 conversion ratio, plus the assumption that it takes as many Force XP to buy a tree of Senses as it does of Reflexes (apparently 1,225,000 Force XP), it takes:

15 x 1,225,000= 18,375,000 ID XP to use ID XP to go up a branch.

We cap out at 80000 XP at a time. So even if I as a Master ID run to the tent to avoid the timer, grab a victim, dose up on substances, and click for all I'm worth, it will take:

18,375,000 / 80,000 = 299.68.

300 times sitting in the Coronet tent, maxing out my XP, shuttling over to Dathomir, and converting my XP, running back to Coronet ...

Each Village phase is three weeks. That means in order to get Persuasion I have to fill up on my XP a little over 14 times a day. If I were to start up on the day a phase started, which isn't possible for Phase 1 right now because I haven't even gotten in to the Village yet. There are four Village phases, and if I'm reading it correctly, if I want to buy Persuasion I have to buy it in those three weeks or wait a 9-week lull to continue? Shoot me now, please.

Can anyone tell me if,

a) We are still working at a 15:1 ratio or

b) It takes the same 1,225,000 Force XP to go up in a Senses tree as it does a Reflex / Combat tree?

All I know (which isn't much since I am not doing the Jedi thing) is that once the old man comes and you have protected the crystal from the insanely easy sith, that you get into the village. A la the old days (lol last week) you are then supposed to grind out your profession of choice (rather that SOE's choice) and max out the experience like 4 times in order to get one skill box.

So, while SOE has claimed that this new system is friendly to all professions, the idea of grinding out ID exp like that is laughable. If I ever get to the point where I feel like going Jedi (and all I need are two Warren badges and the ruined Jedi Temple on Dantooine) I would use my maxed out Tailor/Merchant/Polearms/Sword/Crafting experience first. Sorry, this new system is still more combat friendly. A full set of buffs, comp armor, and good mind food and I can easily take down enormously difficult creatures/npcs and get mucho experience in a short period of time. This basically makes it so that any MID who wants to be a jedi has to do stat migrations... which was the nice thing about being a post-patchMID before.

Problem with that being -- your maxed out combat leads to the combat trees, your maxed out crafting gives you crafting experience. If you want stuff out of the sense boxes, you have to use the leftover professions.

People will probably be dancing up a storm to get sense stuff then ID would definitely not be the way to go

Heheh. Scout XP is a ratio of 8:1, Updated ID is 7:1, and I believe dancing/musician/ent healing is 10:1.

It kills me how much scout and dancing XP I've frittered away in the past.

I can verify those conversion-ratios once TC is up again. One of the easiest ways to gather FS-Sense-xp seems to be entertaining and merchant... allthough there is no cantina in the village you can dance there and comvert your xp whenever you max out. I fear that is what many player actually will do: afk-entertaining in the village.

Merchant-xp on the other side, especially for master merchants comes at a rate of 1.8k per hour with 12 vendors up, now with the new merchant changes... The conversion-rate there is 4:1 as far as I know which is only a bit worse than combat xp with 3:1...

Well I might be a bit pessimistic with my visions, but I fear the days of the afk-entertainers are not over yet...

But I will verify the conversion-rates for ID-xp and post em here in a few I hope...

*sigh* yes, I have to agree there... maybe (hopefully) I am wrong about the afk-entertainers afterall... since the mainreason for the afk-zombism was, that players saw themself forced to grind those profession without having any love for them. Now that players can get jedi with (nearly) every character template they want the number of entertainers overall will drop and those that stick with the professions most likely do it, because they like to be entertainers. But with those imensive amounts of xp needed to fill those fs-boxes many will still return to bad old habbits. Only time will tell.

btw, I can confirm that ID-xp convert with 7:1 into FS sense-xp... entertainer xp (music/dancer) convert 10:1... I think that is because the devs think you allways get ent.healing xp as well... *shrug* But 7:1 isn't that bad, but still a pain to earn as pure ID.

I sat in the coronet tent last night (utterly empty on a Friday evening) and changed size on myself for a while, waiting for a friend to come online so we could go hunting. In 10 minutes, while talking with other people at the same time, I got over 20k ID XP. (And symptoms of carpal tunnel.)

Now we just need Aurillia to get an ID tent and I'm made.

Unfortunately, I discovered that in order to do the quest to get the Persuasion tree, I had to be a Master Medic. I was so sad! I don't even know what Persuasion does but it sounded much better than the combat trees. I just can't bring myself to grind out Medic so I can open up Persuasion.

what gets me is that the xp to fxp conversion dude takes ID xp and dancing. all other skills.. yet when you talk to the sense force lady you are required to be at least master medic. That seems wrong to me somehow. I have well HAD no intention of becoming a medic.
