Thanks Rilawyn, Kwee, and everyone who posted- it is helpful to have feedback in such an organized manner.

I thought I would combine threads a little bit here to consolidate information going out about what we're working on.

Image Designer UI

I talked to the apropriate people today, and we are going to get started on some changes. The first thing I should mention is this is low priority, but we're working on several of the UI's (yes, gambling and house placement too) and ther are some obvious things we can fix pretty quickly. One idea that was mentioned would basically mirror the character creation screens. I like this idea the most, unfortunately it would take quite a bit of effort, considering its priority, and the grouping of customization data in character creation doesn't match the ID skill tree appropriately

I went over your suggestions with the programmer responsible for the UI fixes, and also discussed the bugs in Rilawyn's thread. We'll post more about the feature requests later, but here are his comments about the

bugs:

Human male: freckles missing (already fixed, in publish)

Display a palette for color changes (already fixed, in publish)

Add numbers to customization values (already done, in publish)

Various races: Male Torso missing (added)

Twilek female: Eyebrows and Eyebrow Color missing (added. Note that males don't have eyebrows)

Twilek female: Ears missing (added)

Rodian female: Hair Color missing (added)

Wookiee: Fur Color under Hair (moved to Markings)

Mon Cal: lip size missing (appears to work, more info?)

Can't give markings to people who didn't select it at creation (couldn't reproduce, tried with a zabrak female and male, more info?)

Trandoshan: mouth size missing (Jaw and Chin are already available, as in character creation, more info?)

Bothan male: hair accessory color missing (as designed, only Bothan females have hairstyles with accessories to color)

Rodian male: Frill Color missing (as designed, frills match the skin and only the tips can be colored)

Mon Cal female: Torso missing (Mon Cals females don't have breasts)

New Art assets-

There were many requests for new hairstyles, colors, patterns, etc. I will get all these requests prioritized as well, and hopefully fit a good deal of it in our schedule. I probably won't be posting about it again for a while, because the earliest we would start working on new customizations is a few weeks from now, which means they won't be in the game for quite a while.

Random other things

Gender change/species change/breast augmentation/reduction- I'm checking - this will be a Lucasarts decision- I have a mail sent out about it. Changing a player's species would actually change their stats, so that one is a maybe at best.

We talked about adding a payment option, but this gets into the bigger 'payment for services rendered' issue which I will leave to the designers. They are working on the problem now.

While we were in San Diego for the motion capture shoot, we captured some image designing animations- so you'll actually look like you're doing something when you're fixing someone up. Kinda silly but I really like it- and we captured similar animations for tailors, chefs, droid engineers, and other professions.

More later- thanks for your patience

I think if you do species change it should require a bio-engineer AND a Image designer. That way it'll be hard to do, expensive since you'll have to pay both, and it just makes sense. I really want to abandon my wookie form seeing as i have no armor or roars for that matter

Thank you for the feedback

Would a character creationish window work if everything that could be done showed up but skills that weren't available yet were grayed out and notclickable?

Thank you very much for looking into some of the bugs that we mentioned on our thread. I do see one very conspicuous absence, though, and that is Eye Shape. The eye shape button is instead tied to Eye Angle. There is no way for an ID to change eye shape. I hope that you are able to address this problem soon. It does not work for any species.

Oh another conspicuous absence is the hair/horn color default bug. After a hairstyle change, hair and hornsappearbrown (rodian hair to orange) to all but the customer. The hair and hornsrevert to theirproper color afterthe server resets the next day. Also hair color changes are not seen by anyone but the customer until the server resets. Logging out for a while and coming back in used to be a quick fix but hasn't been working lately. It is an extremely annoying bug for both ID'ers (not being able to see changes and have the satisfaction of a job well done) and customers of course

Theres a bug where if you give a zabrak male long hair, his horn-style is forced to a certain type... In beta my character looked a certain way with long hair (selected at char creation) and certain horns and horn color... but now in retail, an ID cant give me the hair/horn combo I want. Can you please look into letting zabraks have both the hair and horn type/color they want? Thanks.
