You picked a sad, sad...sad day to master image designer. Two days ago, a buddy of mine mastered it in an hour. See, the old macros wont work anymore, since the whole system was overhauled, your gonna have to do it manually untill someone comes up with the most complicated macro in history. The new interface makes the macro much more complicated than it was days ago, and the fact that you have to wait to commit design changes slows the whole thing to a crawl compared to yesterday. The old macros would basically bombard the recipiant with design commitment windows, and all they had to do was click "accept" about a million times, and whoever was running the macro would master in a manner of hours. Too bad you hadnt used the holo yesterday...ouch.

The new timers are obviously a mistake. I don't think they intended Image Design to be the hardest profession in the game to master. Don't kill yourself yet.

Of course I never saw why it wasSO bad that it was the easiest to master. Dancer and Musician (in the same Entertainer line) are much more difficult to master thanmost artisan, brawler, scout, and hybrid professions. Things that can be done quickly are good. Things that can be done quickly are good.

Quick=Good

Slow=Boredom

Boredom=Subscription cancellations

I'm sad because I wanted to make an Image Designer after finishing my 32 professions. Now some of those Master Image Designers are saying the timers should only apply to experience and not to masters? After they mastered it in 2 hours? hypocrites! They do not deserve the title unless they grind it out like every new guy has to... 60+ hours with a friend in the tent from hell.

The timers are not a bug, they are there as suggested to prevent people from grinding through ID in a matter of hours. I'd like to know how it was possible to master ID in one hour as I have heard of nobody taking less than 3 to master it.

It has been suggested that the timers may well be adjusted and those who are already masters have also suggested that the timers be greatly reduced for them (as they do not need to grind ID exp after all). However these are not guaranteed to be changed.

Personally as an ID providing a service (and not grinding the profession) I think the timers are about right - apart for stat migration. I had a few stat migrations only to do last night and having to just stand around for 10 minutes was rather dull.

I can sympathize with those who now wish to enter the profession as they need to take a lot longer then they had to before. However something had to be done to stop ID being seen as a throwaway profession by the majority of players. We are now a valuable profession to have, we provide more than just a luxury service (stat migration) and it takes someone roughly 60 hours to become a master. Our "elite" profession finally has the in game abilities and ranking of other "elite" professions and those of us who try to make a living from it are very happy.

So you think waiting around 10 minutes to do something that took days, even weeks to do is bad... yet it's alright for the new guys to wait around 60+ hours with a friend to master what only took you a day to do?

How do we know what the majority of the players thought of the Image Designer profession? Did I miss the in-game poll? I personally loved the profession when I had it, and kept it probably longer than I should have in my grindfest.

It took me 32min and 26seconds to master Image designer. I have 2 accounts I set up a macro on the image designer account to first spam with out a pause hair color then moved up to weight as i advanced. I got a musician mind buff, and ate two brandies. I first standed next to the entertainertrainer and then the ID once i got id and did a training macro that asked for training every few seconds. I then went to my alt and clicked accept as fast as i could and it only took 32mins and 26seconds. Wanted to time to see how long. If you have the mind buff and two brandies you mind will not drop at all when changing major things so you could just keep clicking accept and you would get around 275 points of xp every half a second. So yes it can be done.

Dancer buffs, musician buffs, brandy, canapes, and a master id as partner who would have had to click approximately every second or two and wouldbe in pain the next morning.

if you stack up on focus food and drink with musician buffs (focus around 1500+) all ID changes require no mind.. a macro that spams requests several times a second.. I don't know if you can do it in an hour but it won't be far off.
