Thread: Price Gouging and Stat Migration

I hope the devs read this. I don't know how it is on other galaxies but on Corbantis there are ID's (not even masters mind you) demanding no less than 75k to finish a stat migration I started right before the mini-pub was announced. What the heck is that? And you can make 100k an hour like they claim being an ID before the mini-pub? That's kinda funny seeing how I NEVER say an ID online unless they were AFK dancing in the spamtinas. It's ridiculous, and the idea that an ID can change my physical and mental attributes is plain silly anyways.

Will I quit the game over it? Not a chance, but I will very likely delete my character and reroll because my stats are horribly out of whack now.

....

Don't reroll your char. I'll take care of you later. When I get a chance to get on.

This is what I was affraid of. Just like in the past, Ch's gouged for mounts when they first arrived, Artisans Gouged for vehicles when they first arrived, Wookies got raped when there armor first arrived...

I'm a Master Image Designer, I won't charge more than than what you think it's worth for stat migrations. I know I'll take some serious heat from some Ider's for this. But my character doesn't need alot of money. I don't have a house, I'm not chasing the elusive jedi slot. I'm doing ID for the fun of being an ID. Heck, what if a noobie doesn't understand there stats and leaves them defaut when they get on, only to realize they should have changed them? I'm on corbantis. Look me up. later when I'm on after I get off work.

The ID's have been so poor for so long I say let 'em gouge for a few days. This is the first time anyone has actually need or wanted them. I know its totally bogus that it takes an ID to change yer stats but thats how it is now.

Yeah, it's a bad day to do a stat migration! Grayves stated it perfectly in the above post. It's new and people will charge more for it because people will pay. It's been the same for every profession that's had something new introduced. The original prices for the new chef food were outrageous too.

Wait a couple days until the novelty dies away. All the people who took up ID just to see the new stuff will move on and the people that ID because they love it are usually more reasonable.

Join a guild. Guildmates hook each other up. My guild is throwing an ID party tonight so anyone in the guild can come and get ID'd for free or just to check out what the changes were

Jedi progression: 5/6 free unlocks, can't even force myself to grind the last FS box. Decided to wait for JTL.

I'm the only Master ID in a guild of like 50+ people. I'm not doing wearing my tag, I'm not giving out my name. I'm an ID for me and my guildies. I don't care if I'm really busy or not 'cause I usually get really good tips (we like moving money around in-guild and if I'm really hurting for money, I'll just go hunt meat or hides (MCH) and get mission cash plus a bit extra for what I bring in for the MAS, MBE, MChef types.

Not sure what it is like on other servers but 80K is the price on Bloodfin for stat migration alone. It is a fair price and is still less then what I think it should be.

not every master ID planed on ripping people off. Once I get back online the gouging stops with me

75k for me is two enraged rancor missions or about 10 minutes of work. so paying 75k to a ID who till now gets very little is not outrageous and is very much in line with what an elite combat class can generate in mission cash in the time it takes to migrate stats.

i know i will be looking up a ID tonite to see the different colours and hairstyles and probably tip em 100k for doing my hair if they do a good job

I suspect that a lot of ID's are going to price gouge for the first few days, maybe the first month. But, I think it will eventually level out. But, while there are going to be ID's that charge you 100K, you're also going to find ID's that will charge a reasonable amount of money. All you need to do is bide your time and wait till you find one. There's no way that you will get every single person to "unionize" and charge 200K for a stat migration. You'll be able to find one that will charge 10K eventually. And, as someone pointed out, if you're guilded, or, the longer you play, the more friends you'll get, you'll have someone who will be more than happy to hook you up for a stat migration on a regular basis at a reasonable price. Don't give up hope. Trust me, there's no way in h e double hockey sticks that you will ever find me paying 100K for a stat migration. I'd rather pay a doc, dancer, and musician a total of 20-30K when I need buffs for hunting (which I will make money off of). Or, buy chef food. Chances are, even with stat migration, I'd be buying the buffs for these purposes anyway, so I'm not losing money by doing so. Stat migration, despite what some people think, is *not* a necessity, and 100K is severely over valued. I can certainly live without that if I have to. I think I have migrated my stats maybe 4 times since I've been playing the game, for experimentation purposes only. But, if they want to gouge, let them. They have every right to do so. But, they shouldn't be surprised if people don't like them anymore, lol.

Well I only ask for 5k for most anything, 1-2k for one change, for a bunch 5k, 10k if it takes a long time for you to decide. 5k on stat migrations to. I am Aveh on Shadowfire Galaxy, I am usually by the tent in Theed if you wanna come to me for some decent prices. I don't want to price gouge at all. I also hope to keep steady business and repeat customers. Who will get a discount.

75k is worth it for a stat migration that takes 10minutes.....its not price gouging its supply and demand....ID's deserve this gift from the devs... take advantage of it!

I think I'll charge 1K per "master" badge the user has... 500 creds if none.

That way, the people who can't pay (new) don't get soaked (by me)

You have 20 badges? you SHOULD be able to afford 20K
