I did recently upgrade my graphics card, so this may just be me, but does anyone else have the little rotating hairstyles in the UI randomly lose all their detail and texture so that they are just solid blocks of whatever color the hair is?

That didn't even happen to me when I downgraded my video card (because the new and improved one was crashing my system.)

Drivers? User settings?

what card are you using? i know i dont have that trouble with my geforce 2 and when i use my cuz's pc geforce 4 no problems either

Happens to me all the time. Started happening after one of the publishes several weeks back. thought it had to do with the publish and never gave it a second thought until now.

Sounds vaguely like a character LOD thing, but I'm willing to bet it's a driver issue. If you're not using the drivers listed on the SWG main page, I'd switch over. Be warned though... when I upgraded my drivers, OpenGL rendering stopped liking me.

Thanks for the tip, I've actually also been having debilitating graphics lag when I go into cities. I'll check out the recommended drivers. I freeze for several seconds at a time

So annoying.

I have never had it happen in Live, but I had the opposite happen on testcenter yesterday. All I was left with was the details and the main part of the hair was gone. So all the hairstyles looked this odd shade of gray and were a solid (with no shadows) color and the detail on top of that. It looked very strange and made it hard to image design someone who came into the cantina and wanted to be changed from his random character.

That happened to me once, but it was my own fault. Got into Coronet on a particularly bad day and watched my FPS drop from 20-25 to 1 (ouch!) so I set all my in-game graphics settings to minimum/off…all of my icons turned into blocks, but at least I could do my daily (okay, twice…three-times daily) bazaar browse

Seriously, I have had the above mentioned graphics bug since the latest publish or so. Another thing is how the icons look in my inventory. The colours are not right, and some items like tops and bras are fixed on a gray torso (eek, my inventory is full of body parts).

I dont see any weirdness on Test Center though, so let's hope it goes away with the next publish.
