Image Designer Archive
Thread: I hate to do this, but it's time to complain!
Okay, let me consider mastering an elite combat profession: it took me 5 days aggregate to master Swordsman. It took me 7 days aggregate to master Image Designer. I spent less time per day working on Swordsman than I did on Image Designer. Still want to make that comparison?

I do concurr that the time it takes to become a master image designer is a tad on the long side, but if I consider how long it takes to become a master combat profession, it is not totally outside reasonable limits. Though we cannot go and image-design enraged rancors with buffs and food to triple our XP, which is a bit of a setback.
However what is a bit of a burden in my point of view and I will concurr with your post in that regards is the fact that it is overly boring for somebody lacking customers: WIth customers or friends it can be fun, without them it is simply boring like hell, contrary to a nice hunt. Furthermore you do not even earn money for mastering your profession, contrary to combat professions. This also a is highly annoying drawback for all entertainer based professions.
So perhaps some dev attention should be put towards this direction.

Just want to add that for Wookiees (and other non-humanoids) that it is impossible to start leveling the profession unless you find a friend that is willing to help you grind the first 2 boxes of image design.

I beliveit is out of resonable limits. In fact I think it is outof all sensible proportions. It a miss. A failure. The xp gainis simply just all wrong. Compared to thecombat profession. If you do it the right way (like killing quenkers) they give you2500 xp each.. Or you can go and kill gurks at lok. There are 9 gurks in a lair and you get 3000xp for each.. + 3000xp for the lair.. So a few nights and you have mastered + made a bunch of credits.. and had a lot more fun than just sitting in the tent with you stopwatch running while watching tv...
If you try to play the game.. and since master IDs dont have the hairstyels etc. that people wants. It will take like forever to master it.

You make a good point - the sad thing is, while "playing" my character and working towards Master Entertainer, I spent most my time watching TV while the timer ran out. I talked with folks, but in general they were just willing to do the same thing and watch TV a bit, and click Commit every so often, since ID 1-4 in Entertainer offer very little in regards to customization of characters. This, of course, was when people would actually let me practice on them in the little tent. The rest of the time, it was me ID'ing myself for 1/2 the usual xp. Why is it crafters get MORE xp for practicing, yet when an ID practices on themselves, they get 1/2? I bet I'd "learn" ID a lot faster if I screwed my own face up, rather someone else's.
