Okay, so, anyone tracking JTL progress probably was drooling or complaining about the new addition of Ithorians to the mix today. Fine.

So what does it mean to us? As an ID, it is our job to discuss all things character creation wise. So, shall we start?

The developers were gracious enough to show a few screens of Character Creation on the JTL info page, and if your interested, I suggest you check them out, but today I'm too lazy to link. By looking at these pictures I pick up the usual gamut of customization optionsfor characters, including eyes, body (conveniently labeled UI_CUST.... Dev's lose the info button there??) and other majors. In addition, we see a 'trunk' page listed. Unfortunately, options for thetrunk are not shown, but it is interesting to note it's input.

My biggest concern here is the color pallette. Ithorians seem rather bland in allexamples in both the game, and these shots. C'MON DEVS! The Ithorians are descended from birds... lets see some avian color! Slightly morevibrant skin colors, and those feathery plumes at the top of the head need to be BRIGHT! Oranges, reds, yellows, blues!

Overall, it seems that the Ithorianswill offer decent customization, but I am worried about one thing seen in the screens of the body customization: Chest size. Ithorians, being avian, are mammals, and shouldhavean option to changebreast size. Without thiscritical adjustment, the Ithorians looks are drawn straight to the head, and that makes the creature seemtop-heavy and awkward. FIX IT! I understand potential LucasArts problems, but bring the info to their attention already!!!

I haven't seen the screen shots, but I assume you are refering to the creating page.

If you have recently visited the creation pages, you will know they are still the same from before the ID patch. NONE of the species have vibrant colors to begin with--just the basics. If they want those, they come to us.

one thing I'd like to note is thatif Ithorians are decended from Avians (I'm taking your word for thsi since I can't look it up right now) I don't thing they should have breasts in the conventional sense, when was the last time you saw a bird, any bird, with breasts (referring to mamary gland breasts, not breast as in part of the avian anatomy)? Birds don't breast feed, so they would really have no use for breasts.if you are referring to torso size, as in making them more barrel-chested, there is one thingto note, in those pics, the weight slider is at it's minimum, it is quite possible that moving this slider will make Ithorians appear less top-heavy by adding more weight to the body.

You lost me right here.... huh?

Birds are *not* mammals and Ithorians look more closely related to invertebrates than either birds or mammals. Wookiees are mammals too, and they don't have a Torso slider.. I'm confused.

They announced it. Ithorians are the first of two new species.

So lucky us, we get to play around with avian mammals.

*sigh* It's really funny how many players seem to be able to tell everything from one ot two screenies of some work in progress and exactly know what this work in progress will be like, what you can do with it and that they don't like it at all... or something like that...

All we know is, that Ithorians will be one of the 2 new playable races that will come with JTL. We don't know anything about the customizations that can be done to that kind of avatar only some screenie that might give us a hint or maybe not. It's simply to early to discuss or complain about anything there yet. We could as well start a discussion about armor-thickness-esxperimentation ranges on Tie-fighter-wind-screen-whipers... oh, right... we are no crafters.... maybe the color-palette of the Tie-fighter-windscreen-whiper?

Really! There is absolute no need for something like that at the moment.

May the Tie-fighter-wind-screeen-whiper allways be with you all!

Wow i have to say that I am totally surprised and impressed. Ithorians dont have the basic "humanoid look" to them, which is why I'm so surprised they are playable. Tailors should be happy cuz i guess Ithorians will have their own clothes (like wookies). Anyways Do ithorians have both male and female? God i hope so, I want to see what a female looks like. I still havent seen one. I cant wait to see what us IDers can do to them though. They come from a lush tropical world, so i guess we'll be able to change their skin color and eye color (and feather thing on top of their head) to bright exotic colors. Anyways i cant wait to see what the next race is, probably Sullustans or Duros.

Heh,

Lets see if our beloved Kwee, The best corrispondant of the forums, can get us some info on the ID changes we can make to Ithorians.

The pics look like a female to me, the eyes have curly eyelashes and the "hair" is kinda female looking.

I wonder how many hair styles can be for this race?

Im guessing we will get the palet for twi'leks skin colors. Or maybe the opposite and get the one for Trandoshans.

I know the pics are new but it looks like there is special clothing for this race...

I hesitated before making a Rodian character because I wasn't sure if I could make one that was pretty. I hesitated even more before making a Trandoshan. I was very pleased when my Rodian and Trandoshan characters turned out as well as they did... especially after I workied themover with ID skills.

I cannot imagine any way that it would be at all possible to make a pretty Ithorian. No way, no how. They are, quite simply, one of the UGLIEST races I know. They look like big beetles crossed with hammerhead sharks. Also, all the Ithorian vendors I've seen look pretty much alike aside from height. so I can't imagine any kind of ID customization options we would have for them.
