Thread: Had a report of an odd and potentially VERY bad bug.

One of my clients tonight told me that she had set her stats to what she wanted them to be last night while she was in the cantina (she came to me for a stat migration). By the time she got to me, her stats had already almost entirely migrated on their own...
Anyone heard of some of these slipping through the cracks? I asked her if she was absolutely, positively sure, and she said yes. She's an experienced player, so I think she'd know how it works... I thought that was very odd indeed. I'm testing it on Fuschia right now, changed her stats today and I'm gonna see tomorrow if they've moved any.

I hate to say this without more to back it up, but I was in the Theed cantina earlier this evening, and two people were discussing this very issue outside...Judging from their discussion, one was the ID preparing to migrate the other person's stats (I believe it was a matter of only a few hours between the person setting them and meeting with this ID), and noted they were already well into migrating without her doing anything. I wish I'd caught more for y'all, but I really didn't register it much until I saw this thread. Hope that helps at least a little (if nothing else than to know that it seems to have happened more than once somehow)...hehe

Hmm. I just checked the stats on my Shadowfire char. I had reset her stats in anticipation of tracking down an ID about a month ago, but never got around to it yet. Her stats are still at the default human scout settings and have not migrated on their own.
Could this possibly be a glitch with stats reset but not ID-activated yet, since just the latest patch somehow?

well i have never told anyone about this because my wife is a id, but once i migrated and didnt get to a id.
and when i logged on the next day my stats were migrated.
dunno if its fixed already or not.

It was my wife's sisters character you ID'd today (Ti'ka Mah'shayl), playing on my account (cheaper than getting her her own account, since she plays once in a blue moon, and only when Im engaged in something on my other computer hehe). When she decided to migrate her stats, she asked me how to do it. I showed her, and we set her stats appropriately, and told her to seek out an Image Designer today. She called me in when she found you, to ask what she was supposed to do, andI explained she just had to ask you to do it. I had her Ctrl+C, just to check and make sure the stats were how she wanted them, and it was then we noticed that they had begun to migrate already. The only stats I was positive had changed were health (had been 800 the day before, was now 312), Action (had been 800 was now 1213), Quickness (had been 500, was now already maxed at 700), and Willpower (had been at 400, was maxed), although all stats except for Stamina had been altered (just cannot remember what they were set to initially). I was surprised that they had migrated, as I thought they changed it so that *only* Image Designers could modify them, which is why I told her to tell you.
Only thing I can think of that could possibly cause this, is the fact that she is 4/3/4/4 Entertainer and Master Dancer. I know that Image Designers are not supposed to be able to modify their own stats, but could this possibly be how/why it happened? Just figured I would post, let you know any extra details. Let me know if you need to know any more about her.

Thats what I get. It says "Image Desginer Data Not Valid. Aborting the changes." or something close to that. I think its something on my end because I've tried 2 different IDs. I dont know what I could have done to get this bug, becuase I've had my stats migrated twice before and the process worked fine.

Were they straight-up Novice ID's? That sounds like a bug from another recent thread about a Novice ID bug that seems to hit Bothans and Rodians worst.

The girl whose stats I migrated wasn't an ID at all. This was definitely unexpected. I'm gonna log Fuschia on and check. Ti'ka did mention that she set her stats while she was inside a cantina. *shrug* Everyone needs to test this... could be a nasty little bug for us.

I had 2 people in my current ID career with this same error I asked them to talk to Tech support cause I was unable to change them... Maybe certain character are bugged?

Hmmph, that is odd.
When I was an ID (yes, that is past tense now), I went to change my stats around and they didn't automatically change themselves. I had to see an other ID before anything happened.
I'll ask people in my guild if they have had this bug happen to them... I'm actually finding this quite intriguing that this is happening.

Atleast on Testcenter this seems to not happen... I'm rearranging my stats there alot trying to meet my needs as tk/commando, but had no luck in meeting with an ID there yet... (ok, I didn't looked THAT hard either ) But my stats there are still the same as they were... I will go back there and change my stats again in a few to see what happens andI will do thins with another char on a live server to test it out. Lets see what we might find...

PS: Sorry, I cannot help it, but isn't it strange how 'concerned' so many IDs are now that it is possible that there might be a bug that lets players migrate their stats themself again? Not that I would complain about that (the concern of the IDs I mean )

Seems to be connected to the latest patch, I've not heard anything of it till now.
