I finally got my visit from the old man, just waiting sith, for the record as im sure i will be asked, I have about 50 or so badges, and only 1 mastered profession.
OK. So when you get to the village its phase 1, so if you finish the captians quest first do you unlock Novice Combat Prowess and the 1st tree Ranged accuracy? Then phase 2 you get Ranged speed and so on? Can you get novice combat in phase 1 then say novice enhanced Reflexes in phase 2? I dont understand how this all works and i know some of my friends dont either, so if someone could explain in english like i was9 yr old how the whole unlocking trees/skills worked, it'd be great.
I'll give it a shot.
In your example, you want novice combat prowess. That costs 50k combat force sensitive xp. You get that by converting the xp you already have. What you've spent on skill boxes in the past is spent. It's gone.
You can train the novice skill provided you have the xp.As soon as you complete a quest you unlock one of the lines which allows you to train if you have the required combat prowess force sensitive xp.
Think of it like this. Instead of paying a Brawler trainer 100 credits to train you in novice brawler, you save up 50k xp and train it at no creditcost. However, if you want to train a box in the unarmed line, you would have to do a quest so that the trainer would realize that you're ready to learn unarmed skills. Then you have to get the xp to train one of those boxes in the unarmed line. By the time you got all the xp needed to train up to unarmed 4, the quests may have cycled around to give you access to the one handed weapons line and you repeat the process.
Unlike regular professions, the force sensitive skills only cost 1 skill point. To qualify for the padawan trials, you must train 6 level four boxes. Using the brawler example, that would be unarmed 4, one handed 4, two handed 4 and pike 4. That is only 4 level four boxes, however. To get the other two, you would have to pick up another profession (we'll substitute marksman for one of the other force sensitive professions) and train up to at least two more level 4 boxes, such as ranged support 4 and carbines 4.
So when people are talking about 24 boxes and unlocks, just think of the vertical branches of the skill tree and remember that in order to get 24 skill boxes, you need 6 level 4 skills (6 branches x 4 skills in each branch).
Get it?

Hmm, starting to make sense.
Using your analogy, does this mean you dont have to Master anything? IE, lets say in your example, Master Brawler?
Just the 16 boxes needed to get there?
Can you learn more than 24 if you were psycho enough to do it?
Or, is this a "path" thing where you need to choose which 6 you want, and the other 2 you wont get? Or can you dabble, getting say, 3 and 3?
Thanks in advance.
In the case of the FS trees, "Master FS" is actually where you get Jedi Padawan ![]()
Yes you can learn ALL of the boxes if you want to do so.
You MUST learn 6 FULL trees. You can't only learn 4 level 3's and 6 level 2's. You MUST have 6 level 4 boxes done.

Yes. In my analogy, you aren't required to spend apprenctice points to gain the Master title.
The thing about the force sensitive trees, Combat Prowesss, Crafting Mastery, Enhanced Reflexes and Heightened Senses, the novice box and the master box do not require skill points and they impart no benefits. If you want to spend the apprentice points on the Master box, it would really just be for bragging rights.
You can get as many force sensitive skills as you have the patience for.
To answer the last question, I'll give an example of what I'm doing. I had 3 free unlocks. I spent one free unlock and trained the vehicular control branch in the Enhanced Reflexes profession. With my other two unlocks I trained in the persuasion branchand theluck branch, both of which are in the Heightened Senses profession. When I did my quest, I unlocked theranged accuracy branch in the Combat Prowess profession. This will effectively give me skills spanning three different professions. Once I earn enough experience to train up to the 4th box, I'll have 4 out of the 6 necessary to become a jedi initiate.
Hope this is helpful.
This is the thing that concerns me the most.
Cheers
