Thread: How many people would really prefer a no-Jedi server?

This is not an anti-jedi flame, just curious if I'm in the minority in liking the idea ofa no-Jedi server. Post your thoughts in a rational constructive manner please so the thread doesn't get banished.
Personally I think I should post my own reasons for my opinion since I started this thread, so I will post three good reasons for my opinion about ano-jedi server.
1. Many SWG players are SW purists, and there were no jedi around in the current SWG timeline.
2. Some people may simply dislike having uber force-wielding characters in their galaxy, grantedthe exact extent of jedi uber-ness is debatable.
3. The effect on the galactic economy may be more profound with jedi grinding included.

i start a character on a non jedi server. i think that would be interesting to play in a galaxy that really sticks to the timeline and all. i am not a jedi flamer either. i think there are too many jedi on the server i play on and makes participating in the GCW not fun.

jedi may be the devil but the devs arent gonna do a thing, it makes them too much money.

i want to see a few jedi,
but only a few, i dont want to see gangs of jedi wandering around killing faction members, that is just not Star Wars.

I dont really see the point of a non-Jedi server..
There arent really THAT many Jedi on a single server compared to the other players... They are more visible due to the robes and sabres though.
Most Jedi dont *bother* other people.. sure there are some that tend to be abusive, but thats true of any other profession in the game.
I would love the option to have a completely non-pvp Jedi.. as in No BH missions no FRS etc.. I'd like to be able to PvE play my Jedi with friends etc and not deal with any of the PvP mess.

I would immediately move to a no-jedi server.
Willing to start over from scratch.

i mostly agree with everything you said but as for the being hunted portion i disagree. i do believe jedi should be hunted but i think that the hunters should be the AI and not players. (keep in mind the AI would have to be much smarter than your average NS Elder)

Some very good points made by both sides.
As for those who simply say "Not gonna happen" well I can tell you for sure that if nobody asks for it it won't. It depends on how many players really want it.
The thing here is that now since we have character transfers, if you started out on a no-Jedi server, and later decided you wanted to become a jedi, you could transfer your character to another server and still do it.
Hey TH, is it possible code-wise to have a no-jedi server?
Please everoyne if you read this and have an opinion post it here for all of us to benefit, even if you simply want to say "I agree/disagree". Lets see how many people like the idea.

The only time I see a jedi is when they are dualing each other. They have never bothered me @ all... Maybe a simple solution would be to prohibit jedi from joining regular guilds and not being faction allied. That way they have to be agressive to kill the average person.(or defending themselves from a idiot trying to kill them)

I would like to see a non-Jedi server. I just don't think they belong in the current timeline and present clear balancing issues.

I would prefer to start a new character on a no-Jedi server. I like to role-play and it is frustrating to see things such as jedi when they would not be around at the time the game takes place. I think having one of these servers would actually be a benefit to Sony. More people like myself who play this game forthe Star Wars experience and not just to become Jedis would flock to it.
