There arent really THAT many Jedi on a single server compared to the other players... They are more visible due to the robes and sabres though.

Most Jedi dont *bother* other people.. sure there are some that tend to be abusive, but thats true of any other profession in the game.

I would love the option to have a completely non-pvp Jedi.. as in No BH missions no FRS etc.. I'd like to be able to PvE play my Jedi with friends etc and not deal with any of the PvP mess.

ahh but you see the issue extends behond those that are already jedi..

you essentially have 3 types of players in SWG now.

1. Those that have already unlocked

2. Those that are working to unlock

3. Those that don't care to unlock

The issue isn't that the jedi are so much of a problem (IMHO i would like a server without them) but its the ones that are working towards the jedi.

A no-jedi server would contain a population that is playing for the sake of having a functional GCW and not for the fact of obtaining Jedi.

The GCW was suppose to be the end game for SWG and instead, Jedi has now become the end game with the GCW nothing but a buzz word these days.

in the end the non-jedi server would probably have one of the best communities in SWG simply by the fact that they are playing for the global goal of the GCW instead of the personal goal of jedi. You would also probably have a much better RPing community as most will tend to want to stick to the continuity. All in all a better server that i can't think of 1 downside too (except maybe the fact that the devs would have to actually lift a finger and make it happen)

the only reason you won't see a no-jedi server is because that is where a lot of players would probably want to go. I know i would be there in a heart beat.

Excellently put SaleusCorwen.

TH/SOE/DEV's Is there any possibility of this happening? Can we at least talk about it? I would like to know what the company's position on this idea is, to many players it's a very attractive idea. What does the company think?

i'm not one to comment on many issues, i try to read almost everything i can on these forums and try to be aware of how other players feel. i do believe that the jedi has basically ruined what this game once was to all of us long before its launch. when i first head they were doing swg i hoped that it would keep to its story lines and by that i mean if it takes place during the original trilogy that it would not change what was concrete facts from the movies. i'm not here to say anything anyone else hasn't said before, b/c a lot of us feel the same way about whats been pushed on us as important to the game when we feel quite the opposite. i'll get to the point, there were only a couple jedi around in the movies and anyone who's a true fan to the films must at least feel irritated that sony thinks it can change the storylines. instead of a non jedi server, i think there should be a 'only jedi server' where anyone who wants to can be a jedi and play on that server. there's a lot of games that feature jedi as the main character and they're fun to play, but swg was told to be something besides that and i really feel the devs have alienated a lot of people in thinking everyone wants to be jedi. i look around the today and see the in game economy is shot compared to what it once was, the hologrind was the worst idea ever and if you look back you can see how it changed the whole game and most of our concerns about other topics are pushed off to the side. when people stopped playing around last december i noticed (had a few friends who stopped) it was because of all the bugs that screwed up the game and people were tired of it. i feel now reading the forums and talking among players that when people leave this time it will be b/c of poor choices of where this game has gone and poor understanding of the average player's wants from this game. like i first said, i don't write much on here b/c i agree with a lot that the forums say and throwing my 2 cents in everywhere doesn't acheive much more than taking space, but its come to a point where we need to be heard. the devs promised one thing that comes to mind, that whats bad for the game will be taken out or changed, well the jedi have become a bad part of the game we were promised would be true to the star wars saga. i don't feel we were lied to but the directions this game has gone is downhill to the game we looked so forward to. thanks for taking the time to read this, i'm out.

/emote jumps up and down in the affirmative

I've been in favor of this since I first saw the idea on the Jedi forums. Let those of us who think the saber-wavers unbalance the game play without them. It shouldnt be that hard to code - should it?

Besides, they'll probably launch some new servers with the JTL expansion so it would be easy.

And call it Ysalamiri.

My 2 cents.

I would switch to a non-jedi server immediately.

The problem is not with the number of jedi at the moment but the number of jedi six/twelve months down the line. Thepopulation will only ever go up as there is no way for it to decrease, other than cancelled accounts. And not many jedi are going to cancel their accounts permanently after having put all the work in to get there in the first place.

It will get to a point in the GCW/high end game where you have to have a jedi to survive for a decent length of time - anyone else will just be cannon fodder. I don't want to be a jedi andI don't want to waste my time grinding a jedi. The day where I feel I have to be one to actuallycompetewill bethe day I stop playing this game.

Personally I gotta say a non-jedi server would be brilliant, just think... no more kids!!!!

At the end of the day there are more jedi on each server now than master smugglers... nuff said.

You know...come to think of it, if SOE made a non-Jedi server I would definateypay the "new" character switching fee to move to the non Jedi server (even though I think it is not a great offer at the moment). Well, heck I probably would be willing to start over as well.

It's interesting to see this thread gain some momentum. I wonder when it will be deleted. Sigh...

This comment was a little off topic, but I could not agree more strongly.

On the topic of a non-jedi server - sounds quite reasonable, considering other games systems like EQ have all different types of servers to satisy the needs of like-minded ppl.

I'm personally on the jedi quest, have been for several months. I had stopped for a time, eagerly awaiting Publish 10. I agree the profession grind caused all sorts of problems, but hopefully that will be a thing of the past. Im not much of a PvPer, my jedi quest will be PvE oriented.

For those of you who say jedi questers have a huge impact on communities etc, Im not convinced. I am a council member of a guild and put a lot of time and resources back into the guild to help it prosper and move forward. I seem to be able tobalance that and my personal jedi quest without any problems, so I cant see why others cannot do the same.

Let's remember to enjoy the game, because it is an amazing game to be a part of.

I know I would like to see the number of jedi decreased at least.... But that can't happen so....

Great Idea, I would start over with a new character on a non-jedi server today if it was an option.

I have not been bothered by them, nor have I seen them but I do know what the grinding has done(not good) I decided when I started that I would simply play the game, not to become a jedi nor avoid it. If I ever unlock I will keep that in mind and maybe go with it, if I don't I don't care. To all the jedis out there congrats on the feat, to all the non-jedi (the ones like me who are not grinding just to be one)thanks for stickin with it.

ROFLMAO!!!!

I'd join Ysalamiri Server, even if I had to roll a new toon. Then I'd delete all my regular server toons the way Cortez burned his ships and never look back.
