Hi, i'm stuck on a Lord Hethir missionat the Emperors Retreat.

He wants me to give a data disk to a Holonet guy, but when i reach him he attacks me.

Tried this about 10 times now, i cant get the Holonet fella to calm down so i can speak with him.

I read a guide concerning this mission wihch suggests running around until he stops trying to kill me.

I tried this also but nothing seems to work.

This seems broken to me...

please help as i really want to complete this,

thanks for any help

Two options:

1. Kill townsfolk until you have positive thug faction

2. Use the /conv command from as far away as you can.

You thug faction is too high, and he's attacking you on sight. All the rebels in the Emporers retreat are "criminal" so a negative thug, or Borvo faction will get them to attack you on sight, making some of the missions very hard.

You have two options, go kill a bunch of townsfolk and reduce your thug faction and try again...or

Crawl up to about 65 meters away and target the guy. Type /conv

This should complete the mission, as you conversed with him before he aggroed you.

It's not broken, it's actually something in the game that gives you a penalty because of choices you've made killing things.

Thanks for that reply Teh'ik,

I will try the /conv command now - hope it works.

In case this doesnt work for me, can you suggest where i might find a healthy supple of Townsfolk to slaughter?

thanks again

What i ended up doing last night (some of the other suggestions didnt work for me) is i killed the thug

then /conv worked...i had to do it a few times though before it did.

You could /conv after he was dead? Or am I reading that wrong? Anyway, glad you got it done.

To anyone else having trouble with these aggro guys at the Retreat:

I think they nerfed /conv from 64m, you have to be closer now. So thats out. And forget about gaining Thug faction, you'll be looking for townsfolk forever. The sure fire way that always works is the "let him attack you until he gives up then /conv" method.

Its convenient to set upa button in your toolbar that will /conv. Then just let the guy start attacking and chasing you, he can't really hurt you.(edit: make sure you /peace so you don't kill him). Target him and pres your /conv button over and over. When you get so far out or after certain amount of time, he will stop attacking andturn around and start walking back. Since you are still hitting /conv,as soon as he stops the attack the conversation starts and you can finish the mission.

/conv

/peace

/ui action toolbarSlot00

Hit that, let him agro you...then just run past him. After he gets a set distance from his spawn point he will /peace and head back.

Do NOT burst run, and I'd take off your weapons just in case.

I couldn't just /conv at distance...so I came up with this solution. I've also used that in a few other quests now.

I did this for a few thugs for several different missions, killing them DOES work.

Go to him and kill him

then after he dies /conv BEFORE you loot him

you should /conv him fast before his corpse disappears or before the /conv doesn't work

that will work

I can also vouch for this technique, its how I ended up doing the imp themepark missions. Figured this out through frustration actually.
