The holonet guy attacks stormtroopers, but they don't attack back. After he kills the stormtrooper you have a very short amount of time to converse with him before he will turn and attack you. Takes him a good 10 minutes to kill a stormtrooper though, but he does eventually kill the stormtrooper. Just make sure you have your converse ready to go at the instant of death.

I tried the aggro thing and couldn't ever get it to work for me, I have no terrian negociation and couldn't keep up with him when he turned away, and usually just ended up aggroing him again.
