Thread: tusken Observers?

can anyone point me in the direction of where to start the quest that includes these npc? I think it has something to do with a rifle as a reward...

I believe step one is actually killing the Tuskan Observer & retrieving a skull form him. After that you take it the more military minded polititian in Bestine.
The bit you need to worry about is finding one (they spawn in the Tuskan Fortress once per day) and then killing one (they eat most people for breakfast).

I can solo this guy no problem...but lately, if I have to escape for a moment to clear a really bad bleed or a state...he has been despawning...and that really makes me mad.
Check around 0,0 on Tat for him, or cruise within 1500 m around the Tusken Fort if he isn't directly inside.

there is almost one of these hanging around the squill cave dead center of the map some times. at wp 0,0
i have seen one there twice on seprate occations.

only problem with those tusklens is alot of times if your melle, you get torn apart half life before you get to em, cause they shoot ya while u drive towards em

They're pussies once they go into melee mode... Ranged mode and they will kill you with ease.

even buffed sometimes they can get right past your armor and hit you for ludicrious amounts of damage. I've heard him using strafe 2 on some poor guy and being hit for 4000+ damage

The quest you refer to is part of the Bestine elections.
Head to the Capitol building in Bestine and speak to the governer. To start the quest you i'm pretty sure you must have voted for Victor and he must win the election. Then he'll give you the quest. The quest is actually to kill a Tusken Executioner and bring back his head. These are actually tougher than the Observers and stick some nasty bleeds, worse than Elders sometimes. And yes, get all high level Tuskens into melee because they don't give two craps how much ranged Defence you have, they'll still cream ya 
Once you have killed him and looted the head. Go back and Speak with Victor and he'll give you a Lithitanium rifle. It looks like a Tusken Rifle but has slightly better stats.
When trying to find them, always try 0,0 first. thats where i got mine.

unarmored maybe, if you have 80% armor it cant hit that hard, thats a 16k strafe shot? 90% comp and PSG's when you need to heal work great and i have no problems ranged as long as he is intimidated (i never regretted giving up those skill points for master brawler lol)

Observer has shot me twice by the squill caves, "Tuskin Observer hits you with advanced straif shot for 5346 points of damage".

nope, I was Master TKM/MSwords, fully 85% comp armor, and was riding along and was 1 shotted for 3900 damage
