I've heard observers can do upwards of 11k damage with one shot......however, I fought one that spawned in the fort last week, he spawned right on top of me and went into melee mode.....all I saw was 4500, 5800, 3400 in 2 seconds....then I was dead. (numbers are approximate) and yes I went back through my log to check.....of course I wasn't fully armored ether, but I was fully buffed and only armor I wasn't wearing was pants and helmet (which I never wear) but he never hit me in the head. Anyway, point is that they are some nasty bastards and no matter what your profession is, they will smack you for high damage. Unfortunately, I wasn't expecting him to spawn on my like that or else I would have been prepared...when I'm prepared there is no Mob in the game I can't tank and kill

i just killed 2 today on chilly, and they both got off 2-3 shots before they switched to melee. They hit only for 300-400 on me, have no idea why u guys r getting hit so hard

300-400 is probably the damage you recieve from theirnormal attack....folks are talking about specials....

how can you tell?

1) .....Tusken observer attacks and hits you for 546 damage

2) ....Tusken Observer uses Advanced Strage and hits you for 5467 damage

bestine election related quest/loot =

tusken head ( tusken executioner )--> lithitanium rifle (from victor)

smooth stone( tusken executioner, observer, witch doctor ) --> lithitanium carbine (from random spawn time merchant when sean is in power)

carved stone( tusken executioner, observer, witch doctor ) --> marader armor chest plate - variant (from random spawn time merchant when sean is in power)

black metal gaffi( tusken executioner, observer, witch doctor )

tusken bones ***--> junti mace*** (from merchant who tells you about rare bones when sean is in power ??)

*** = these items are rumored only....to my knowledge neither item has been confirmed to exist....

You know the drop rate off these things, I killed the executioner this morning and got the head, first time i ever took him on. However, I have killed 3 obeservers and 1 witch doctor and gotton nothing. Ohh, and do u have a pic of teh black metal gaffi, I think i might have deleted it thinking it was junk loot

I have killed several Observers and I have never looted a single item..this was all after pub 12.

Thedrop rate is verylow. tusken head is prob the easiest to get. i got like 6 in the bank but unfortunately it appears you can only get one rifle per toon and the head is non tradable.

the black metal gaffi looks like a regular gaffi, but is black, named differently, and has light AP. I almost destroyed the first i looted as the stats arent spectacular typically, but decided to hold on to it initially because of the different name. later, i found clarification on it and was glad i kept it.

I little tip for you, if you do /taunt on the observer before u engage it, it go's into melee mode (providing your a melee fighter), as for the damage they do, i think that largely depends on you damage migration/defence, i've killed loads as a TKM/Swordsman with some medic skills, and they r harmless intimidated.

mitigation is the big thing, as that's why us lovely melee fighters take insane damage when hit by their ranged specials. Since from my experience ranged mitigation only applies to wielding a ranged weapon, and melee to a melee one, for us def stackers, the trick is getting lucky enough to get in before they can land a ranged special.

There was a live event in Ancorhead on Corbantis a little while ago. It was nice and easy for the most part, until near the end. Dealing with one executioneer or observer is a tough challenge, especially when you have to close in on them. They spawned in nice little walls and had fun taking down players galore when they threw in a special.

Once got hit for 16k damage with his rifle, safe to say I didn't survive, neither did my chest plate

im a swordsman, yah, low defenses and everything and am not speed capped and i soloed the observer with only 2200 buffs and crappy wookiee armor. it can be done quite easily but takes awhile.
