i don't understand what's going on with all of these weapons, are weaponsmiths out of business completely? or will they be able to craft things like this?

That rifle is awesome!

It isnt only limited to the Trandoshan Specie like the Wookie Bowcaster is it? But any way on your question about weapon smiths, it seems that they cannot make any of the new weapons with out a schematic and I have no clue where you would obtain schematics but I do know that they do in fact exsist. On my server a weapon smith obtain the schematic for a Czerka Dart Rifle, an Imtimidator pistol, and some other ones with the names I am not too familar with. But I dont understand because most of the new weapons are quest orinited so I dont know how one would get such schematics becasuse you usualy just get the weapon and not the schematic.

Talk to the trandoshans in the slaver camps in Kachirho and do quests for them, lots and lots of them lol

I assume the biolinking is what is supposed to keep the smiths in business, but still let you get cool loot. This way you can do a quest and get a cool rifle. It breaks and you will likely need to get a new one from a WS since the quest ones have been biolinked.

WS's are happy because they still have business. Person doing the quest is happy because they got something useful.

Seems like a good idea to me.

Personally I doubt I'll be doing too many quests for those dirty Trandos, but I might think about buying one of their pea shooters as an energy rifle. My 'caster is kinetic, and the T-21 is just uuuuugly.

That's all well and good except WS can't craft these. And the big thing about the quest reward rifles, other than the base dps and they look different, is the MUCH lower action costs on them, that is huge.

How does biolinking keep us in business? If you want a nicerifle, go to kashyyyk... sure it might deter the lazy player into sticking with a WS, but anyone who really wants a nice weapon doesn't care.
