I don't know if anybody noticed this or if this old news but look at this quote by thunderheart:

"In the Jedi revamp, the death penalty is an XP loss on cloning. This XP loss can be completely avoided by a Doctor revive or the “Regain Conscious” Force Discipline. This means Jedi can sacrifice themselves over and over to Bounty Hunter’s over and over with no loss which means HUGE credit and XP gains for Bounty Hunters."

I thought that's pretty interesting.

now does this rule apply to Jedi xp or FRS xp as well. cause if it applys to FRS xp too then their is a bug.

So many stupid people are still alive because it is illegal to kill them.
Anyone who says, "Trust Me" can not be trusted.
It is not what you are killing but what you are allowing to live.

It was posted somewhere that XP loss was on clone and FRS loss was on DB

Yea, that answer caught my eye also. Doesn't it seem a bitunbalanced tohave Regain Consciousness eliminate exp loss for certain Jedi?

that's why they're either turning bh missions off or making the amount of reward so small that no jedi/bh combo would care to fight enough times to make it worthwhile. until they "fix" it by making low level jedi worth less money and knights worth more supposedly. you're only telling half the story... it's not like he's encouraging exploitation of the system

So a gang of, say, 3 Doctor/Jedi hybrids can level in group with complete safety of never losing XP.

CSRTimV: I would suggest sending in a ticket, as there has never been a bug with the jedi system.

I will admit I have beenbitten by the XP loss twice this week due to bike auto-stores. (Yes I wish this was fixed but this isn't the point of this post) Although this amounts to a huge amount of play time for me I am trying to remain calm.

I understand the point of xp loss -- slow jedi advancement. Ok - I can deal with that.

As opposed to a straight XP loss system I would like to suggest a XP Debt system. Other morps are incorporating this and I personally feel that this is a huge improvement to gaming systems that focus on XP loss for deaths (like jedi). If you are unfamiliar here is how it works:

You take a death and acquire 200k xp debt.

Each point of xp you gain while you have debt is divided by two. One half of it goes into paying for your debt and the other half goes towards useable xp.

As a example, if you get 900 xp for a Racor and you have debt you would get 450 positive exp and work off 450 of your 200k debt. Once this debt is worked off you are again gaining your full 900 xp for your Rancor.

Since I have no hopes (nor really any desire) to have xp loss removed from jedi I stand behind my recommendation to improve the system. I have played in this type of 'debt xp -- slow growth' system and it is many many more times tolerable than a straight xp loss system. At least I feel like I am making positive movement and it doesn't affect the overall point of xp loss which is slowing character growth.

Having tested CoH for a few months I have to agree with you. 50/50 debt systems are so much nicer than straight loss. It slows you down just as much in the long run but it never sets you back.

As a Bounty Hunter, I for one would agree to this system. Slowing down Jedi is the best way to keep this game in the timeline. Completely stopping you guys is not something that would be fun if i was a Jedi, and so i dont wish it on you guys. I would augment this with a chance though of completely losing a skill. Say if you acquire 10 mil in exp debt, you have the option to lose one box to wipe out the debt or you can keep the debt. Maybe with varying levels of division too, like for small debts below 1 mil (if each death takes 200k) maybe the division is 1 out of 3 pts earned goes toward advancement and the other toward debt. Either way, this system sounds better for both parties, bh's and Jedi, than the current system does.

When dropping a profession, one usually hasacquired an excess amount of xp points for whatever profession they had. Have you ever notice large quantities of experience just disappear when relearning the profession?
