Yep, not on the first two levels of two-handed sword.

I have noticed that if have capped your xp then drop lets say rifle man, and lets say you pick up a skill again, you have alot of xp left and can maybe learn a few more boxes. But instead you decide to go out and hunt, you kill something you gain 20xp, and whoosh all that extra xp is gone, you have lost say 300k of rifle experience. This might have been patched I dunno and I do not want to try it again.

That's because characters have a maximum amount of xp they can accrue for each skill equal to twice the ammount of the next highest available skill on the skill tree (or 2 times a level 4 skill if you have one). So if you go to relearn any skills you've dropped your max xp gets reset to the new skill level. I've max out my 2 handed weapon xp at 900k (a level 4 skill cost 450k), if I were to drop all of swordsman and start over the xp max would reset to twice the xp required for a level 1 skill. I'd end up with only 350k 2h xp (a level 1 skill costs 175k).

Now that you're even more confused...actually I hope that's clear.

There are caps between each skill box; I'm not sure the exact amount (it may vary depending upon the profession), but itappears to bearound1.5 or2 times the xp needed for your highest available skill box. As an example, let's say that you are a fairly novice scout, 1-0-0-0, and you are running around killing gnorts on Naboo. You need 1000 scouting xp for hunting I, or 5000xp (I think) for exploration II. Your general scouting xp cap will be around 7500 or 10,000 - 1.5 or 2 times the highest available skill box.

Now, if you were previously a 4-0-4-0 scout, and allowed it to max out (I think it caps at 20k there), then decided to drop back down to novice level, you would be ok for the time being. However, when you go to learn your first scouting skill again, it will immediatly drop the cap again down to the lower cap of 7.5k (or whatever it is), and you would lose all that you had gained before that point.

I hope I didn't make that more confusing that it sounded. The bottom line is that there are caps between skill boxes, and the game will adjust your cap if you drop skills, so plan accordingly.

Heh, sorry, guess I posted at the same time as the others.

Cheers,

It makes since in coding, but its still kinda screwed up to do that to players. I'm not too worried about it, just wanted to see if others were having the same issue. Thanks for the feedback.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say this too...

If you've maxed your xp and then drop skills and then go out and get training or earn more of that same xp, your max xp level is checked and reset to the new max. This is intentional, so any xp you loose you'll just have to earn again.

Hehe, I know about the cap and such but lets say you drop all the skill boxes down to novice you still have 900k of capped xp but you decide to fight a monster and you gainsay 25xp from Worrt yay, the cap updates or kicks in and you loose all the extra xp it will say something to the like of "You have lost 900 000of rifle experienceas asystem message" after you have killed the creature So if you want to keep xp drop the whole tree and don´t use that type of skill again.

my experience is as follows......

had a toon with 200k+ 1h xp

now the toon did not have any 1h anymore.......the mistake on my part was...using a npc trainer.....it took the 1k or whatever for lvl 1 onehanded then ate the rest of my xp leaving with 10k xp left.....i will never train 1h again....word of advice...don't use a npc trainer if you have left over xp have a player train you....i'm sure they would like the ap

It especially sucks when we have to USE that exp to train up FS crap after Publish 10.

I EARNED that exp, quit taking it away!

SWG is a lot like the Nicotrol System.

With each patch, you're that much closer to quitting.
