Each week, Q-3PO started a thread for you to share game tips with fellow players. Tuesday Tips will continue on with that tradition so be sure to join in and add your helpful tip.

Do you have a little known command you use all the time? A cool place to visit? A trick (non-exploit) to getting more out of the game?

Share it here or if you prefer, send us an email with your tip and we'll showcase it here!

This tip comes from Khrolan of the Flurry Galaxy!

Changing the Color of the Musician and Dancer Flares

It is possible for Musicians and Dancers to change the color of their special effects (skill tree 4/0/0/0 in each profession). To do soyou can activate any of the abilities listed below - - provided the necessary requirements are met- - with a 1, 2 or 3 as an added parameter. This will change the color/style or general flare of the special effect.

For Example: instead of typing /dazzle, type /dazzle 3

The following abilities can have different colors:

Dancer:

/colorlights
/dazzle
/spotlight
/distract
/smokebomb

Musician:
/colorlights
/dazzle
/spotlight
/firejet
/ventriloquism

Check out last week's tips

Neither did entertainers for a long time.

Actually, I think the parameter affects the intensity of the effects, not necessarily the color.

Here is a guide to Entertainer special effects with graphics for each one:

In some cases it is the color.. Such as /dazzle, /distract and /smokebomb. But the long and short of it is it's 3 different effects.

oldie but a goodie when you are in tell hell...

/tt message here

will send a message to the person you have targeted...saves me a lot of miss tells...

Also if you pve a lot and get tired of looting and harvesting here is a macro you can map to a key

/loot

/harvest meat

that will loot all and harvest meat...

you can replace meat with bone and or hide...be carefull though. There used to be a bug where if you had /harvest hide and killed something that only has meat and bone on it...once you click your macro you will not be able to harvest the meat/bone anymore off that kill.

Another word of warning regarding this macro... There is a very old bug that occurs when there is loot on a corpse and you harvest a resource: It destroys the loot.

I used to use it all the time, until one fatefull krayt hunting trip.

My inventory was at 77/80, and whenI used that macro it pulled 3 out of 11 tissues off the corpse. The remaining 8 tissues (82 damage ones, mind you) were all destoyed when the meat was harvested.

But yes,as long as your inventory has plenty of room it works like a charm

Here's a tip

if you want to make a item without a name at the screen where you enter the name just delete everything and hit the space bar once.

Hmm, nice tip!

Even today, I don't think many entertainers knew about this, including myself. As much time as I've spent in cantinas in all the different Galaxies I've played on, I've never heard any entertainers speak of the the different types of effects you can do.

It does not destroy the loot, it merely puts it back into the creature.

Use the radial Loot option (not Loot All) to manually retrieve the items after you clear up some inventory space.
