Thread: Targeting macro
Is there a way to target somebody in your group? (i.e. /target Joebob)?
I'm wanting to add this to an /assist command or my mount command so it automatically targets my mount.
Also, how do you change to color for the font on your house name? Thanks.

I sure hope not, because I strongly believe standing in a static spawn killing easy stuff for elite profession XP (commando's AFK-killing 100HPstuff over and over with a flamethrower) is not supposed to be possible.
If you want weapons XP, go out and hunt like the rest of us. It's not very hard to makean elite combat profession quite quickly. Without ever powerplaying or using the most advantageous methods of gaining XP, I've made TKM in a week or two. People who powerplay and don't care about fun for the time being can make TKA in a day or less.
Aha now it makes sense...
Watched someone stand in the same place and kill the same6 spawns for hours, he never moved, I thought it was a bug. What's the fun in that?...maybe he is trying for jedi...

There is no fun in it,but some people are only able to play a few hours a week and want to be able to spend those few hours pvping or adventuring, and you can't really do much of either on your own without leveling up. I don't really agree with most macroing but in some circumstances if it makes the differance between someone being able to enjoy the game or not then I say go for it. To each his own.
My 2 cents...
Targeting macros are a great help for someone like myself who cannot play anywhere near what I want to.
But, I also see the other players opinions. Someone camping somewhere running this macro on a static spawn. That can piss you off. I personally was grief'd due to running a targeting macro, and have since quit running them.
Do they work...yes
Will they piss some people off...yes
Use with caution.
/tar [name] is how it works, you have to use their name at the end of the command... so you either type it in, or set it up for a particular person/object.
