This has probably been answered already somewhere, but I couldn't find the answer.
I'd like to create a macro that selects the nearest enemy target, and automatically targets the reactor to reduce the action to one button push. anyone know if there are command line commands for these?

So far as I know, there are no ui commands for targetting
You could bind target nearest enemy to a key on your keymap and then bind the component targetting to the button right next to it to at least make it easier to manage, I have it set that way on my joystick, push right on hat switch to target nearest enemy, then left to target component, works well for me. If youre using keyboard/mouse, a good configuration is this for your # keys
1-Target nearest enemy NPC
2-Target next component
3-Target next enemy NPC (cycle target out)
4-Target nearest enemy player
I suggested this layout to a friend and it worked well for him, also can set all that on the number pad instead of keyboard # keys for easier access...
To access your keymap, just go into Options-->Controls-->click keymap button on the bottom, click on tab for targetting, bind the keys, then make sure to click OK or it wont save the changes! Hope that helps

It's not really that hard to select an enemy and hit [ or ] to select a component.
Though it is annoying that if you get hit a few times, the seleceted component deselects and you have to select it again. Eesh... so annoying...

True it's not that hard but for me going from controller to mouse while doing this is a pain in the butt sometimes especially if I'm trying to concetrate on staying behind an enemy.

In the keymap dialog box, float the mouse over the command you want to use in the macro. It should display the / command in a tooltip. They're probably something like /targetnearestenemy and /targetnextcomponent.

Can anyone verify this?

I checked this out last night and unfortunately this doesn't work. so i mapped the targeting to my controller, and I moved my throttle controls to my Numpad. Works real nice now. I'm currently using throttle like this
Numpad 7 = /throlttle 1.00
Numpad 4 = /throttle 0.75
Numpad 1 = /throttle 0.50
Numpad 0 = /throlttle 0.25
Seemed to work really nice last night

Heheh, I was about to make a post asking the same thing. It seems I get a fater win if I slect a system to attack rather than just attack the ship outright. Helps take down those aggressors a lot faster and many times on the approach, which is nice because man that tail gun of theirs really stings!

I tried myself, my bad on this one. I could swear I saw those popups before, but maybe I'm just confusing droid programs. Those do pop up the / commands.
