Thread: Christmas Gift from SOE

I was wondering if anyone here knows if this is the only gift that we get this year. I mean two of the things were out last year and then some get lucky and get one of the new paintings.
Well what if I got an orb but still got mine from last christmas. Would that be equal to getting coal in my stocking? Or will we log in christmas morning and have a present in our inventory. Last year we all got holos plus the wookiee life day gifts.
Not that anyone knows yet but rumors are alwyas something to think about when you have a long day of work to do yet...

There hasn't been anything official, but I'm betting this is it.
The Holocron give away did more damage than good.
The Orb giveaway was accomplished by putting orbs in houses and letting people hand them out. That didn't always go too well. Some people were selling them, which is not what they were intended for. In addition, there was a lot complaining about how they were distributed, and doubt the Dev's want to take the time to start dropping them off in people's inventories.
This way, we still got to observe life day and get a gift if we have been playing for over thirty days. Keep in mind, that not everyone got an orb last year (I know I didn't for any of my characters). An orb would have been a welcome gift if that is what I had received, but my main got a painting of Kashyyyk, which I am happy with (although I was hoping for one of the wookiees).

I don't think the wookiee life day gifts would be considered christmas gifts.

The gifts weren't Christmas gifts last year either. The Devs were careful to make them nondenominational holiday gifts and associated them with Wookiee Life Day. Last year, by this time, we had already heard about the rest of the gifts we were getting. I have a feeling if there is anything more, we'll hear about it in the Friday feature if it is happening. Otherwise, I wouldn't count on anything else.

i got an orb but a freind got a life day painting thats in the city museum i run now

why not give us something that will help us and we can use like cold hard credits. Say 1 mil credits since thats not a lot of cash anymore in the game. Would be a nice gesture and wont screw up anything. You cant tell me everyone cant use an extra million credits????

lol i think one of the reasons for the solo group fix was to try to curb the stupid economies on many (if not all) servers. Dishing out billions of credits into the economies isnt really going to help achieve this is it...
plus... why should we get anything at all anyway ? Xmas is just another day to millions of people out there

I think they should dress up Darth Vader as Santa and have some paralops be the raindear and the ewoks can be the elfs
This would be great stuff here, we could milk the raindear and loot the elfs and well Darthvader could kill all the jedi that try to ruin christmas

What about the grand majority of people who DO celebrate Christmas for both the religious purpose and the tradition of bringing families together? Christians, Catholics, Jewish, Athiests... Most all celebrate Christmas.
The developers, along with the rest of this crumbling nation, are already whiting out Christmas by replacing it with "holiday" in an attempt to rid the world of Christ. It's enough you can't even name a vendor or house or item in SWG Christmas but you can Channukah or any other "holiday."
