I know this isnt what your asking for (in fact i dont believe there is a way to, i asked the devs for one).

But if your ina group if you use HUD interface mode you can click the group HAM bars to target them.

frankly, they need a target friendly key like DAOC has. Would work just like tab works for enemies only it targets the nearest friendly/neutral and cycles from there if you keep pressing it.

That's my question. When you want to target a MOB without the mouse, just face the general direction and hit the TAB key. Presto! You've targetted a MOB in front of you. Hit it again and you cycle between all the MOBS in front of you. That's fantastic! It really makes it easy to target those critters, etc. as they run or fly around.

Now, I want to do the same thing with players. Not just the guys in my group (control 2 thru +), but any player. The reason why is, Ineed to target a player while he's surrounded by MOBs so I can easily and quickly heal him. With the mouse cursor this is sometimes difficult and precious seconds can be lost, seconds that may make the difference betweenlife and death or at least incapacitaion.

So help me out here and someone tell me how to accomplish this.

Thanks.

tab button then use the ~ button to bring up the radial menu

Light and Dark are only words. Good and Evil exists.
They are the repercusions of choices and actions. The Force is one. It is Power Unlimited, It is Power Absolute.
Its infinite nature corrupts absolutely. Those who are sensitive to its flows, eddies and rushes be warned.
For all of you walk the line. Know your intentions, your actions and their impending consequence.
Remember, Choose, and Act.

Er, no, that's not it - tab won't target players that aren't hostile to you.

Yeppers, how do you target friendly PC's. You know the other guys running around with their name above their heads like Hands Olo or Chyewbakka or Fluke Shywalker.

The PC you want to target must be in your group, otherwise mouse target is the only other option.

*click* I dont want the rat

*click* I dont want the other rat

*click* wrong PC

*click* I dont want that rat either

Dang it all I want what I'm clicking on

*click* I finally select the right target

*click* "You cannot heal a corpse" Bummer Now which one of these mofos is attacking me and where is Tigger going?

I guess you wouldn't have necro'd it if you had been able to find the info already, so here's what I do.

It's not as fast as hitting a single key, but you can type: /target name (name being the first name of the player).

If it's something that you'd need to do frequently, you could write a macro to do it and then bind that to a key.

/target bob;

/pause .5;

/healdamage;

I use something like this when helping other people do missions in space.

All I have to do is change the macro to reflect the name of the player who's missions we're currently doing.

/target bob;

/follow;

Now when we're ready to move on to the next waypoint, I hit the key I have bound to this and fall into line behind them.
