Actually, you've missed the point here. We're looking for a way to /target "nearest player character" or "nearest non-grouped PC"... not someone with a specific name. This is especially great for entertainers that want to group everyone around them before starting a buff, or someone starting a hunting group that wants to invite everyone nearby, rather than /target name; /invite;, or mouse-click-to-select; /invite; for the entire group.
I feel that one reason we're not "granted" this ability (WHICH, BY THE WAY, WE ALREADY HAVE IN THE JTL SPACE-ASPECT OF THE GAME) is that it makes it easier to run an afk "buff-house" or to form an afk "solo-group".
