Heh, not to mention if SOE changes the "method" on unlocking again... They already forced poor souls who were steadily grinding to now reverse course. Hard to say in 30-60 days if this method will be the same. Much aking to the 5 masters...then 6 and reportedly ending with 8 masters unlocking.

1- I got no credit for 8 professions ( all done before Publish 9)
That means that at the time you are no closer toInitiate then you where befor Pub 9. Personally I think that is Fair
2- Time is good for getting rid of minor peeps wanting to be Jedi but dont wanna spend time doing it
/agree though they'll just buy there Jedi like they did pre-Pub 9 this will make that jedi Selling market unprofitable though
3- But I still think this is too long ( this does even count Jedi Initiate or Padawan Trials ) I just want an extra account so I can Drop the merchant account I dont have time for it anymore. LOL - Due to the Jedi Quests.
Personally I think that they should just let us have a Second account already. I just want a second (well Third accually) Toon, not a jedi.
4- I agree peeps should have gotten credit for Holo's - but I think it would have been better to give them credit in the actual Initiate -Padawan- or Jedi Quest not the village.
See 1, If you where 5/6th the way toInitiate (only 1 holo prof left) your 5/6th the way to Initiate etc. Personally I think this is once again Fair.
5- Credit should have been given for Professions and Quests not just Holo Professions only
Why when it was only the Holo Profs that got you closer to Initiate, not Quests or Non-Holo Profs?
BTW I only did 4 Profs and Rightly got No Unlocks
**Edit**
you can do more then one Box at once if all you care about is Grinding to the top Unlock a sences Branch and a Combate/Reflexs Branch then you can Cap Scout as well. Also Pick up a second Combate Prof and you can Cap that prior to your return trip it will atleast save you some Trips to Dathmore.

ok .... think of it this way on the old jedi system
4 holocrons - 250k each (if bought)
26 proffesions or more to unlock
if u look at it that way ... it is realy the same in the time and money it takes to get jedi

O.K. Peeps out there, lets talknumbers to start out.
Lets image you are like myself. I have been playing since the game came out. I had already done all the badge and location needs (except Luke) andI have Mastered the following. Pistoleer-Dancer-Entertainer-Scout-Fencer-Medic-Swordsman-Doctor. I thought holo grinding was silly (Did Luke take up 20 professions, or have Obi tell him what he needed to do for a living to become a Jedi) Tangent there --- Sorry. I got my visit from the old man within 2 days and sith attacked me within 2 days. Now it was Village time. I did not get any unlocks for the 8 professions I mastered. Dohhh - I should of grinded, it would have took less time because of the following numbers. These arereal number peeps.
NOTE: I am currently Master Swordsman/Master Doc
6 - Number ofquests trees needed
4- number of boxs needed for each tree
1.225 million Force XP - exp needed for each tree
7.350 million Force XP- exp needed for all 6 trees
900,000 exp / 300,000 XP - exp I get for full cap out on exp, each trip back to village. (Sword Cap / Combat - Respectively - for myself)
30,000FX / 100,000 FX - Force exp credit I get after converting points. (Sword conv / Combat conv - Respectively - for myself)
130,000 FX - Force Exp I get per cap-out trip
56.5 - Number of trips it will take me to unlock
1.5 - Numbers of hours it takes me (this can vary greatly person to person - I do this quite fast IMHO) to cap out both XP pools and Returm to the village.
85 - Number of hours of gameplay it will take if I only work on XP---- NOTE : This does NOT include getting Mind Buffs and BF Fixed-Repairing Equipment - Buying new equipment andReplacing Supplies.
3 - Number of hours a day average I play SWG (Insert No life comment here - I have other things in Real World to do also)
29 - Min number of days to get all boxes
18 - Oppps numbers of weeks it will take to get village to cycle though all phases so I can even Apply points.
4 - Number of months to get though village quests
$ 14.95 - Money you pay SOE (If you pay my month Note I pay by Quarter)
$ 59.80 - Money I will pay SOE just to unlock Jedi
$ 194.35 - Money I have payed SOE so far for this account over last 14 months for my account Lyn Mee (Master Swordsman - Master Doctor)- NOTE: I have 2 other accounts Zacca Mee (Master WS / Master Merchant) and my Wife's account - Bailee Mee (Master Dancer / Master Musician / Image Designer)
This are onlynumbers now time for my minor Rant

Okay I got 2 free unlocks because I did 4 holoprofs out of the 6 profsI mastered. But I rather take the current grinding method then the hologrind.
I myself am not very fond off the crafting profs, so the hologrind wasn't to appealing for me. With this grind I don't have to switch profs constantly and eventually you would cap a combat prof anyway. The only thing i'm doing is that I cap it in 1 buffrun. If I would go beat up Janta's or mokks i would eventually reach that cap anyway and let the exp I get after that go to waste.
I agree it takes some time to finally be able to get a Jedi but most players don't know how to grind a normal prof within a day (except for the basic profs) so they would take longer to get it aswell

I started on the grinding (combat) but soon got bored - What i have noticed though, is it's had more of a rallying effect on our guild as we do a lot more hunting together now.
I'm doing the unlocks, as and when they are avail, but i know for a fact that i will not have the xp needed to fill the 6 trees in the time it takes me to unlock them. I've not yet even filled one tree - but then i don't want to loose any more skill points at this time, as my template doesn't allow me to train more than 1 box !!
MD/TKM/ Scout 1-0-0-0 = 249 skill points.
To loose the explore 1 on scout would make terrain negotiaion awfull, then next to go would be scout - even worse lol - loose ability to gain senses xp and harvest resources. - i guess i could drop some of MD ... but i dunno, loose ability to buff properly.... etc
I've given up on the try and getjedi as fast as possible, and gone back to enjoying the game and doing things i want to do.. <- new concept lol.

Just a quick comment on this portion... back before December of last year, the devs never stated that opening up your Force Sensitive spot would be based solely on professions mastered. In fact, they hinted that during "normal" play you might eventually open your slot, and to me and many others, that meant visiting POI (and this was before the POI tab on your datapad), visiting planets, running quests, trying not to kill jawa's, trying to be generous to noobs... nobody REALLY knew what the key to unlocking was. To me, once I established my character, I had no intention of changing professions since I loved the skills that I had. Having the slot based solely on Mastering Professions was a mistake, and they realized that and now unfortunately, this new grind is making me start all over from scratch. The reason is that even though I chose to not holo-grind, I still played the game for the past everyday 10 months since learning about the holo's,but since I was at the XP cap for all of my skills, I got no "credit" for using my skills since then. They also hinted that a 'casual' gamer might unlock in 1 year... uhhhh.. I have been a hardcore gamer since launch and it will take me at least a year and a half to even get to the point where I can try the Padawan trials. It just doens't seem right.
It's my fault for not holo-grinding... I probably could have done that but by this point I would have proabably burnt myself out. I just hope that after I unlock 6 trees in the Force Sensitive skills that I don't feel similarly 'burnt out'... because grinding Jedi will be much worse than grinding Force Sensitive...

$ 59.80 - Money I will pay SOE just to unlock Jedi
--- wrong, that's how much money you will pay to play the game. What you choose to do in that time is your decision. If you choose to use it to unlock jedi, that is your choice not SOE's. There are plenty of people who will be playing the exact same game at the exact same time as you, paying the exact same ammount, who won't be unlocking jedi. Do you see them complaining?
The only bone I think SOE should throw you guys is removing the EXP caps at master so you don't have to make trips out there.
