I'VE BEEN "GLOWY" SINCE PUB 10, TUESDAY MORNING...AND TO THIS MINUTE I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A VISIT FROM THE OLD MAN. I DID MY FAIR SHARE OF HOLO-GRINDING, I HAVE EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE POI - BADGE AND 21 PROFESSION BADGES - ALL 3 CORVETTE FOR IMP - ETC ETC ETC ETC
ENOUGH!!!!
I HAVE SPENT ABOUT 12 HOURS A DAY ON THIS FRIGGIN GAME WAITING FOR SOME OLD MAN TO POP OUT OF NOWHERE.
DO MISSIONS! I HAVE!!
STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE ALONE!! I HAVE!!
AND WHILE I AM SITTING HERE WASTING MY LIFE WAITING FOR SOME STUPID OLD CRACK POT TO COME HARRASS ME IN THE WOODS, I AM SEEING PEOPLE WHO STARTED IN THE GAME ***ENTIRELY*** A MONTH BEFORE PUB. 10 LAUNCHED PASS ME BY...GETTING AND EARNING THEIR NEWLY NEEDED XP TOWARDS JEDI.

Damn, I'm tired of all this whining about not getting a visit from the old man. Just shut up and play the game! If you feel there's no fun left, then take a break from it for awhile, and if after that, you're still not having fun, cancel. That's the bottom line. It's a game, afterall, not life and death.
And I can guarantee you won't get a visit if you're standing around all day or are looking for him. Me and everyone one of my friends who have gotten a visit from the old man were all out doing something completely unrelated to this guy. I had just pulled up the mission terminal to begin working on mastering pistoleer when I got the visit!
He will come when he's good and ready to, and not one moment sooner. There's no sense in having a heart attack or a brain anyeurism over this! 
And let me say this, while I believe we veterans (the ACTUAL vets, not none of this six month vet crap :smileymad
should have some sort of badge or something in game (nothing big, really, maybe a badge that says ....has paid for the year long beta, or something, lol ), we are not OWED anything. We should have been playing this game because we wanted to live in this world, including the "normal" professions, not worrying about Jedi or becoming one. Hell, if the time period didn't clue you in when you bought the game (yes, I know the devs have since thrown that out the window), then you are probably about as smart as a box of rocks.

And let me tell you, the village isn't all that it's cracked up to be, more of the same lame missions, only new and improved, with 75% more bugs than the leading brand of missions

Also tired of waiting. If I don't get the visit tomorrow, it's time to find a new game. I put to much time and effort into this game to sit back and watchnewbs get a visit.Some of the newer players have absolutly no idea what it was like Holo grinding. Working hard to master professions only to drop the title 5 min later to start back at the bottom of a new profession. Well we'll see what happens when I log in Sat. afternoon. Got a little hope left in the game, but very disappointed.

hear hear! i've been playing the game since day 1 (with a long break that ended just before 9.3 tho ) and never once grinded.. i still only have master marksman, master scout badges from when i started bounty hunter.. later dropped it and am now working on rifleman/ranger..

Read the Friday feature- it explains missions will not bring the old man. Riding around on vehicles will not bring the old man.
I walked everywhere on pub 10 - it was the next day at 10:30 am Thursday when I just exited from inside the Geno Cave that he visited me. It was Friday at 9:30 am when the sith attacked me at Lord Nyax's Bunker.
Do your normal stuff - just drop the speeder and walk to your missions you'll have better success.

just a thing: the old man won't come if you're not logged in, so no need to spend 12 hours a day waiting for that dude, I'd suggest to actually log out for 1 or 2 hours and go see some doc to check your mental abilities (cause sitting here for 12 hours waiting for some video game character to visit you is a REAL mental issue IMO).
u could log for a few hours, get condoms and maybe work on that virginity thing, having sex is great, I'd say it's better than spending 12 hours waiting for an old man, unless you want to have sex with him (who knows ?).
maybe log for an hour or two, and have lunch with your family, take a shower, go outside... well... in 3 words...

After spending a day in Aurillia, I suggest this time would be well spent in banking more XP. I don't care what it is, check to see if it can be applied to whatever (currently-offered) tree you want to get and start banking. This conversion rate is a killer.

From what Im hearing about the "village" from others that got there visit from the old man and siths, I would give it a break and let the first wave of Padawans wind down a little. It seems that for at least on Ahazi that the village is way overcrowded with rugrat padawans and nobody to help them.......lol....at least thats what Im hearing ingame. Anyone headed there might want to make sure they load there cpu with lots af RAM or die a laggy death.

Man, everybody is so hostile. But I feel for the original poster, he should have gotten a visit by now. I was in the same situation as him, grinded 19 profs and had just about every damn badge in the game. I waited 4 days and nothing. Then a fellow guildie, who had only mastered a grand total of 3 professions max and wasn't even glowing until after patch 10 went live after I showed him a few links on what badges to get, got a visit before me. Needless to say, I was dumbfounded, so I can understand where this guy is coming from. Somebody said you get a visit when it's time, that's total bull hockey.
My advice is to do what I did and shuttle around to different player cities. I thought it was stupid to at first because I believed in that "when it's your time" crap but on my second shuttle guess what? An old man visits me...now I regret now having done it sooner. So try shuttling around to different player cities, I almost garuantee you'll get a visit since we were pretty much in the same boat.
