Today hunting Black Sun's on Endor, I had one hit me for 4.5k using Strafe Shot through a full set of Comp. I can understand using specials but it needs to be a little more balanced.

Hmm...
I guess you should have been part of a group to tackle those high-end creatures...

If they're really hitting for 4500 damge through what I assume is top quality composite armor, then a group wouldn't be of much help now would it....Unless of course, it's cool for someone to be incapped and possibly DB'd every fight.

If you want the game to be easy, stick to Meatlumps.....let the rest of us have the challenge.

I think npc's should spam their best specials like us. Maybe then it would be fun.

cause you should be able to solo anything in the game right? with the right armor/food and shield gens you could have succesfully negated nearly all of the damage from that shot. don't ask for mobs to be nerfed just because you A) can't get the group to tackle them. B) can't get the equipment to tackle them.

I have to agree with the other comments. Please don't cry 'its to hard!'. Some of us like the chalange!
Try having a ranged profession so you have ranged dmg mitigation (saves between 40-80% of dmg intake), maybe use some synsteak if you know your gonna get slapped around, make sure your armor isnt vunarable to the npc's dmg type, and doesnt have lowered resists due to lack in maintanance.
Other then that i got to say i havent found a single NPC yet i can not take (ok with elders and some DWB guys i would need 1 or 2 people with me); So i would hardly say anything is to much or to difficult!

the mob didn't hit for 4.5k after a 70-80% resist. it either hit for 4.5k total, or it hit for 4.5k to a vulnerability.

Just because it said 4500 in the combat spam doesn't mean you took 4500 damage. The NPCs having their specials back is one of the best things the devs could have done! NPCs used to be hard, you're a community leader, you should be able to remember.
You're crying on the wrong shoulder here - the overall community concensus is that NPC SHOULD be this strong, because the game was far to easy before.

The funny thing about all this is, if they were never taken away, no one would know anybetter and it would be an accepted part of the game.
This is nothing new....This is how the game used to be when it was fun to PvE, they just brought it back back to that level.

I'm not saying make it easy but balanced. If NPC hit for that amount then Player specials should hit for the same or close to it. If I see an NPC with a Rifle, I should be able to know that with it's specials itmay hit for x amount of damage.

NPC is a great fix!
It finally makes killing things more of a challange, even with full buffs and high end comp.

I pity the newbs in eisleys....those spice fiend spawns near the cantina....without special the newbs might be able to make it inside for help.....now....newbs gonna get fried.
