Thread: The overall best Ranged proff in PvE

What is it? Im debating Pistoleer , Commando, Rifleman, and Carbineer, i only have enough skill points for one of those, so whats is your opinion on the best one?

Rifleman....Heashot 3 as a Master Rifleman...mix with mind buff, ahrisa, brandy, T21, and bam....killer.

for PVE:
The best ranged combos are Rifle/2H sword or Rifle/Ranger.

by the way, if you choose rilfe, you have to go Master. Rifleman is NOT a dabbling profession. In fact, it absolutely sucks all the way to Master. But once you fill that last box, you are GOD - no lie.

Agree with the guy above me, rifle is awesome once you master it, you can be insane, but you will get hit with state's that can be very damaging. The times i died in PvE as master rifle was when Uber mobs dropped me with KD/Dizzy. I am now a Master Pistol/BH and can do some really heavy damage but without getting hit with those states as much. BTW, these reason i left rifle was to have PvP fun hunting Jedi for a different pace. But ii PvE, rifle was the sheznet.

Does Rifle go well with TKM?
I still dont see how rifles can compare doin 9k damage and blowin stuff up

Rifle all the way
I did commando and loved it too....but there are a few big problems w/ commando
- Acid Rifle specials dont work
- Flamer specials only work at 16 meters
- Flamer is only 1 type of damage
Plus for Rifle
- conceal shot
- head shot 3
- strafe 2
- types of damage - energy, acid, stun, and if u have a brezerker rifle - heat
Im my perfect world, I would go master rifle w/ speed tape for a +5to +10, master swords, tka meditate
As far as damage output ..master rifle is as close to god mode as you can get..remember, speed is also a consideration..not just damage per hit.
The first day after hitting master rifle I went to the Imperial Weapons on Naboo (when it spawned) and to strafe2 (not knowing it was an AOE attack) and had 50 dark troppers attack me all at once. I paniced and switched tomy VKs(being a master TKA) ..and died in 30 secs
I went back the next day and tried the strafe2 again. I took out the whole bunker in 3-4 minutes...Enjoy Rifle while you can..cause it's bound to be nerfed!

Rifles.
- Rifles outdamage, outrange, and outperform Commando's. Its sad how a Flamethrower does less damage than a Rifle. A rocket launcher or a flamethrower is a pretty painfull thing to be hit by, yet defence, range (practically melee range) puts it in the back seat.
- Carbines - without BH 0400 You're not that good. Too slow, extreme HAM costs, and lack of defence.
- Pistols - Broken Specials Broken Specials Broken Specials Broken Specials. Only good thing is defence and FanShot. Otherwise, its pointless without BH 0040 or the Smuggler DF line.
Therefore Rifles - best Ranged prof, overall, IMO, in PvE, and in PvP.

I have mastered pistoleer, and the damage really is bad. Rifleman is the best overall ranged profession for anything, PvE or PvP. Only to contend with the pistoleer defenses.
TK/Master Rifleman is a good idea. And only dabble in commando 0040 if you must dabble.

Is that possbile? Master Rifleman, TKM, and Commando 0/0/4/0?? And while i was grinding the rifles tree i noticed that i couldnt hit the quenker, i wouldve killed em very fast, but i hit 2/10 times, i know i shouldnet be at pointblank but does it get better at point blank?
