Thread: Tuesday Tips January 4th – Finding an Entertainer

Each week, Q-3PO started a thread for you to share game tips with fellow players. Tuesday Tips will continue on with that tradition so be sure to join in and add your helpful tip. Do you have a little known command you use all the time? A cool place to visit? A trick (non-exploit) to getting more out of the game?

To get things started:



Finding an Entertainer



One way that you can find an Entertainer now is with the planetary map. Entertainers can register at cantinas to let other players know they are there and ready to entertain you. You can find out which cantinas have registered entertainers this way:



1. Open your Planetary Map (CTRL-V).


2. Look for "Cantinas" on the list


3. Double click "Cantinas" to get the full list of cantinas.


4. Any cantina that has a registered Entertainer next to it will have a sun symbol next to the cantina.



Then all you have to do is make a waypoint and head on down to the watering hole of your choice and sit down for a drink and a dance!

I think I have a good one:


Beware buying, keeping, or using any infinite (-1 uses) Damage Over Time weapon.

Hmm, I suppose the same mechanic works for registered doctors. I've been playing since launch and never realized this. *slaps forehead*

Good tip. It will help some of the newer players.


But TH I think it is time to get a newintro paragraphfor the Tuesday Tips. It was ok for the first month or so during the transition into your position. But take the reigns man and add a little personal touch to it. Make this the THUNDERHEART tuesday tips. Heck move Garva to Tuesday and make "Thunderheart Thursday"

how about: if you have trouble with your new saitek x52 joystick, it is going to have to be fixed in a later patch...



The_Shruberer has nothing to do now that there is no more floating shrub...

Note: entertainers can also register in hotels (listed under "hotels" on the planetary map) and theaters (NPC ones are under guild halls -> theaters, not sure about PC city ones). Outpost taverns (on Yavin, Dantooine, etc) should show up under the "cantinas" category.


For the other side of things, a player gains the /register ability with either Novice Dancer or Novice Musician, which flips the planetary icon from moon to sun. Registration lasts until the player does /register again to unregister, leaves the structure (which generates a system message telling them they are no longer registered), or logs out. I'm not 100% positive on that last one, it was bugged the last time I did musician, but that was over a year ago.


Doctor registration is gained at Novice Doc, and works in medcenters.

Hotels and theaters rofl. Why bother looking there no one and I mean no one uses them.
