Note: entertainers can also register in hotels (listed under "hotels" on the planetary map) and theaters (NPC ones are under guild halls -> theaters, not sure about PC city ones). Outpost taverns (on Yavin, Dantooine, etc) should show up under the "cantinas" category.
For the other side of things, a player gains the /register ability with either Novice Dancer or Novice Musician, which flips the planetary icon from moon to sun. Registration lasts until the player does /register again to unregister, leaves the structure (which generates a system message telling them they are no longer registered), or logs out. I'm not 100% positive on that last one, it was bugged the last time I did musician, but that was over a year ago.
Doctor registration is gained at Novice Doc, and works in medcenters.

Hotels and theaters rofl. Why bother looking there no one and I mean no one uses them.

Don't be so sure. If you don't look you'll certainly never find them.It only takes a few seconds to check the map.

Yes. Many times, actually. Some even recent. Heck, maybe I'll go dance in a hotel today just to be different, see if anyone was paying attention in class.

ROFL... Well if it's any consolation, I HAVE actually used the hotels... mostly to waste my "meatlump money" into the gambling tables (wish we had more choices there.. but thats another topic)

My Tip:

If you use a wireless mouse, be sure you have spare batteries on hand! Nothing worse then being in the middle of a big trade deal or combat on Dath with some nightsisters and having your mouse go out. (Which reminds me... i need to get more)

Hmm, I suppose the same mechanic works for registered doctors. I've been playing since launch and never realized this. *slaps forehead*

I think it does, but I wanted to take the time to go into game and verify it before I posted the tip...

Good tip. It will help some of the newer players.

But TH I think it is time to get a newintro paragraphfor the Tuesday Tips. It was ok for the first month or so during the transition into your position. But take the reigns man and add a little personal touch to it. Make this the THUNDERHEART tuesday tips. Heck move Garva to Tuesday and make "Thunderheart Thursday"

You think so?

how about: if you have trouble with your new saitek x52 joystick, it is going to have to be fixed in a later patch...

We have a fix for that one in the works - - Im waiting on a definite date before I post on it... (Those are mighty impressive joysticks...heh...anything with extra lights and buttons is extra-good in my book!)

Thanks

We recently got this feature up and working (pretty well I think) and Im hoping folks will use it more often.

I think we all would like to see Entertainers in more spots we can find throughout the galaxy

I love absolute statements like that -- they are so often provably wrong. Actually, the hotel in Coronet is in constant use on Kettemoor. Best place in the galaxy to get mind buffs.

I am glad you base the state of SWG on Kentemoor alone. The only place I can find an entertainer anymore is Coronet in the cantina. The rest are buff bots in player cities and the dant mining outpost. Last time I visited Theed, the cantina there was even empty. You can base your accusations on Kettemoor and I will base mine on Scylla.

Hey TH I think the registry is broke for player owned cantinas and medcenters because they always list people as being there last time i checked and99.9% of the timenobody is there.

Nevermind looks like it is working correctly now heh.

TH, is there any ETA on a register location ability for Image Designers? We're technically Entertainers, too, and it would be nice to be able to open a map and see if an ID's on duty. We're a rare breed.

Finding an Entertainer

One way that you can find an Entertainer now is with the planetary map. Entertainers can register at cantinas to let other players know they are there and ready to entertain you. You can find out which cantinas have registered entertainers this way:

1. Open your Planetary Map (CTRL-V).

2. Look for "Cantinas" on the list

3. Double click "Cantinas" to get the full list of cantinas.

4. Any cantina that has a registered Entertainer next to it will have a sun symbol next to the cantina.

Didn't know they stealth fixed this feature, didn't see it in any patch notes and it used to be completely broken as it would always display player cantinas as active even without an entertainer present. Anyways thanks for the update/notice.
