Thread: Since when can a Krayt hit you from 80m away?

Please explain, just got incapped and DB'd by a Krayt 80m + away.

It was probably the tracking bug where mob you see 80m away on your screen is really 1m in front of you as far as the server is concerned. It goes the other way too: it plagues many melee players since they can't seem to hit a mob that's 1m in front of them because it's actually attacking a ranged character in their group that's 40m away according to the server.

I get the same thing since the CU went live, best thing to do as a ranged player after using a sucessful root is to keep running in one direction until you stop getting hit.

SWG has Server-side Hit Detection? It seems to be a problem.

I had a krayt rooted+KD'd, was doing damage to him and he was doing 400 damage every two seconds. Needless to say, I was dead pretty soon



Ranged prof btw.

since the cu. just like when i do ranged knockdown, and the thing falls then slides to my feet

Since CU. Every creature in the freaking game hits outside its melee range. I don't believe it is server lag. I think it's a code issue. I am sure it will be fixed when they CU the CU.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Last night sith outlaws were shooting me from 90m away. It makes it very hard to work out any sort of solo strategy where you pull from a group of mobs. I can't get him close enough for me to do any damage because he can't hit from so far away, and I can't get closer or his buddies will get me.

I also noticed while hunting that I had to get 500m away on my bike before I was out of turret range and 100m away from creatures.

I'll have to play in a group until I can pull mobs again, which i hate.

Alot of times it is NOT a server/client connection issue. I've tested it by letting critters get right next to me, rooting them and then running off. They are still hitting me 50m away... So either you have to accept that theres a drastic problem, so bad that roots/animal position/everything are being misrepresented, or SOE needs to fix some code that was damaged with the CU.

Oh, and from what I've seen, the 100m range is not their starting range, they have to start hitting you from the normal 5m or so, it is only after that first it that their range gets bumped up to 100m.
