Thread: Since when can a Krayt hit you from 80m away?

I absolutely hate this lag or whatever it is. Things like that need to be fixed before SOE adds completely new stuff...

Btw, I just found this thread using the search, that's why i post so late.

LOL! I had a krayt follow me in my house and was attacking me in my living room. There is definately some kind of tracking problem going on. I found that KD'ing the mob seemed to update my client as to their position. I hope this lag gets fixed soon

Everything is working as intended. Have you purchased the Rage of the Wookiees expansion? Make sure to renew your subscriptions so you may witness all of the exciting changes coming to the game. Changes such as multi-passenger vehicles.

Not suppose to be able to solo Krayt's anyway, but many players are able to solo them anyway.

As most players know, the so called CU, which I call SWG2 is really much more unbalanced then the original system, and as I put it, even less fun to play overall.

This CU, isn't a CU, but SWG2.

SOE are selfish, as they were thinking more of making lots of money from the release of the movie, instead of making the game what players asked for. Sure, they might denie it, nothing new, as they will protect thier interest.

Well, anyway, I think its the same type things happen, even in the original SWG, sometime the mobs seem to WARP several meters away all of a sudden, especially mobs that run away when they are almost dead, and have seen them warp 80 or more meters away, and after a certain amont of time, they sometimes come back. They warp back at you, but attacks seconds before you see it back in front of you.

I haven't bugged this in the game yet, sorry, but to SOE devs :

When something gets a posture change, like KD, the position updates correctly for the client.

If you can't fix in any other way, at least I would like that every mob in the game runs this code every second so everyone knows where the creature/NPC are.

Something about tracking and positioning seems to be very broken. Listen to entertainers doesn't work, targeting a cloner often doesn't work, fighting as melee in a mixed group...

This thing should not have to be bugged. This is one thing that internal testing should have noticed very very fast, if there ever was one and if someone cared.

Right now you have to use a combination of experience and guesswork to work out where a mob actually is in the game, as more often then not it isn't where your client thinks it is.

It's like playing "Spot the Ball", but with Krayt Dragons.

After a while you get used to it, but thats not the point... this is a very frustratiing client/server syncronisation issue that by all accounts was experienced when the game first when live years ago.

If I start getting "Out of range" messages when a mob is reported as 5m away from me I run towards whomever in my group is likely to have the most hate of the mob and use passthru on them... and all of a sudden I start shooting the mob wherever it might be.

Typically Riflemen get a lot of hate so its a good idea to follow them about while hunting ghostly krayts.

The lag that was introduced by CU/ROTW could do with being sorted out pronto. Being melee attacked by something that is miles away is pretty damned annoying.

Whilst they are at it if they could sort out the invisible mob bug too, I'd appreciate it. Being constantly attacked by something you can't see or target is really frustrating. You have to run for miles until the mob gets bored, at which point it pops into existence and runs off. You then end up chasing it all the way back trying to kill the little sods for chasing you in the first place.

LOS issues on the bottom level of the Rryat Trail should be resolved too. At the moment you can't attack anything even if you're stood next to them...on the upside they can't attack you either.

I personally enjoy being shot through walls and doors...Its that added element of excitement that SOE has promised us and they DELIVERED! </sarcasm off>

Honestly, have you tried to run the warren quests lately? Mien Liben!! Clones of the same mob, shooting through walls and I enjoy being nibbled to death by hurtons....fun times -not.
