Improve your group's combat ability and join up with a Squad Leader! Squad Leaders have a special ability called volleyfire that will give a 15% bonus to accuracy and damage to everyone in the group. Volleyfire not only gives a group bonus, but it will also "paint a target" that everyone in the group can see in order to direct their fire at a single target.
To make this happen, the Squad Leader needs to be the group leader and target an enemy. Once the Squad Leader is both the group leader and targets an enemy, they can activate their volleyfire icon and everyone will see the group target and get the volleyfire bonus.
Do you have a useful tip that you want to share with your fellow Star Wars Galaxies players? E-mail it to SWGTips and if we select the tip we'll post it as the Tuesday Tip and give you the credit! Send us the character name and server you'd like us to include if we post the tip.

Great Tip TH. Two questions, i always thought that volleyfire actually shifted the target to my(im a squadleader) target. Your wording makes it seem like i designate a target and its up to them to attack it.
1. Will my group's targets all switch to the target im attacking when i use /volleyfire
2. Will they stay on that target after volleyfire is over or do they just target, attack and go back to whatever they were fighting?

Another tip: combine last week's Tuesday Tip with today's to make your squad much more effective! If everyone targets the Squad Leader and uses their special abilities on him, they will always attack the target he's painted with Volley Fire (as long as the Squad Leader keeps attacking that target himself). There's no easier way to get the most out of that 15% damage bonus!
And one more: combine Volley Fire with System Message to Group in a macro! This way, you'll give your group a message on their screen pointing out the target you've painted!
Macro: VolleyFire
/sysgroup \#FFFF00 Focus all firepower on \#FF0000 %TT \#FFFF00 !;
/volleyfire;
Your squadmates will see this on their screen:
Squad Leader Korren Faihon: Focus all firepower on Lazaris Blackpool!
With these three tips, you'll be cutting through your enemies like butter!
Now... how about a new Squad Leader correspondent?

What do the mods for volleyfire do then? I have +25 in attachments on my armor does this do absolutely nothing? Before the mod made it so it wouldn't fail as much, now that volley always work what does it do? It should either increase the % of accuracy and damage or make it last longer and have a shorter cool down.

We have often wondered how this work, and this was a good description.
However, I also want to ask: Do Volley Fire give bonus to yourself, even if you do it without a group?
Vollyfireonly works in a group (this is not a self buff).

Sounds like they provide a pretty nice DPS bonus for a group.

So, if I am in a group, lets say me and my droid, and I use the "volley fire" in the target, I will get my 15% bonus in accuracy and damage?
Correct.
I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

Lets say this
My attack is X damage.
I will receive 15% accuracy.
Fighting a mob Z i will receive a W damage bonus based on my accuracy and my cl and the defense and cl of the mob.
And plus 15% over the X.
So in the end I would have a damage that is:
X(my base damage) + 0.15x(volley fire damage bonus) + W (the damage bonus based on my accuracy and level relative to my target's defense and level)
That is correct?

Does Volleyfire work with pass-through assist? It seems like a wonderful way to keep on your SL's target.
Yes.
Wow, SL day on the main boards, lol. Some more info: Volley Fire will pull a target, it also works good on pulling aggro off the tank, and Jedi hate Volley Fire. ![]()
