Does Volleyfire work with pass-through assist? It seems like a wonderful way to keep on your SL's target.
Yes.
Wow, SL day on the main boards, lol. Some more info: Volley Fire will pull a target, it also works good on pulling aggro off the tank, and Jedi hate Volley Fire.
I noticed that - - it was a great discussion ![]()

Now how's about removing group visibility from jedi and making it only enemies, such as NPCs and Neutral and Opposite Faction Players count so that they can benefit.
Will there be any documentation for this new game or will we have to rely on posts like this and the odd sentence in system messages?
There is no excuse for continuing to spell it wrong this late in the thread, Thunderheart. I realise it is not SOE's job to educate the borderline illiterate (many of the players, not you), but that's no excuse. The skill name is spelt correctly in game and numerous people in this thread have spelt it correctly. Continuing to spell it wrongly will only confuse more people who will assume you, being an official rep of the game, are correct. This is not the case - you are spelling it wrongly and it needs to be corrected.
Please edit your posts accordingly.

Borderline illiterate? Wow, trying to live up to the "petty" in your forum rank, eh?
Edited to clear up the confusion. I was not referring to TH, I was referring to players in game that are borderline.

And one more: combine Volley Fire with System Message to Group in a macro! This way, you'll give your group a message on their screen pointing out the target you've painted!
Macro: VolleyFire
/sysgroup \#FFFF00 Focus all firepower on \#FF0000 %TT \#FFFF00 !;
/volleyfire;
Your squadmates will see this on their screen:
Squad Leader Korren Faihon: Focus all firepower on Lazaris Blackpool!
With these three tips, you'll be cutting through your enemies like butter!
Wow...there are no words to describe how cool that is.

Thunderheart wrote:Improve your group's combat ability and join up with a Squad Leader! Squad Leaders have a special ability called vollyfire that will give a 15% bonus to accuracy and damage to everyone in the group. Vollyfire not only gives a group bonus, but it will also "paint a target" that everyone in the group can see in order to direct their fire at a single target.
To make this happen, the Squad Leader needs to be the group leader and target an enemy. Once the Squad Leader is both the group leader and targets an enemy, they can activate their vollyfire icon and everyone will see the group target and get the vollyfire bonus.
Great Tip TH. Two questions, i always thought that volleyfire actually shifted the target to my(im a squadleader) target. Your wording makes it seem like i designate a target and its up to them to attack it.
1. Will my group's targets all switch to the target im attacking when i use /volleyfire
2. Will they stay on that target after volleyfire is over or do they just target, attack and go back to whatever they were fighting?Message Edited by ZandaarDokedros on 05-17-2005 11:44 AM
1) Volleyfire will not activate or change your group's target..
2) Pre-CU it would do as you describe.. Everyone would launch a single attack at the target, and then return to their respective targets. Now it simply indicates the SL's intended target, and it's up to the group to switch to it.
And as someone else asked, Volly Fire only works in a group. All Squad Leader abilities are non-functional when solo (although grouping with a pet/droid counts as a group)

1. No, all of your group members will have to actively target the vollyfire target. It will be "painted" with a glowing target, but it will not automatically switch your group member's target. It was decided that it is really annoying to have your target automatically switch in combat - - especially in situations where you might be defending yourself while other members in your party are attacking a different enemy.
2. Nothing "sticks" with vollyfire after the special is complete. The bonus and target lasts for the duration of the ability against whatever the Squad Leader targeted. When the cool-down is complete, the Squad Leader can choose a new victim...er...target...
