Thread: How to complete the Heavy X-Wing/Vaksai Mission (Rebs/Neutrals)

Once you have completed the escort missions from Kashyyk station, you get the chance to take a mission that is a little more "Challenging." This will give you access to one of the high mass fighters. I won't go through the details of the previous missions, this is for the final mission only.

The deal is this, you have to intercept a stolen Rebel corvette, take out its escorts, and then capture it and escort it back to the station. 2 aces can do this mission without much difficulty, but it can also be soloed (I know, 'cos I did it )

First part - Destroy the escorts. Easy enough for a master pilot, they're all Tier 4 and 5 fighters and bombers - just make sure you don't land any hits on the corvette, or that will make life difficult for you.

Second part - Disable and capture the Corvette. This is a Corellian Corvette (just like the one that needed to be destroyed to get master pilot in the first place). I have 2 words for you: SPACE BOMBS. Get a mark 2 Spacebomb launcher and load it with a pack of at least 4 bombs. As long as you didn't hit the Corvette in the first part, then you can just saunter up to it, lock your space bomb onto the Shield Generator, and fire. It may take 2 shots. After that, do the same for the Secondary Shield Generator (again, may take 2 shots). Once that is down, use your guns to take out the engines. Wait a minute or two, and the corvette will be captured by friendly forces - with all it's weapons intact .

Third part - Once the corvette has been captured, assume an escort formation with it. You will soon be attacked by more tier 4 and 5 fighters. Word of advice: Don't destroy them, just disable. Chances are the Corvette will destroy them once you disable them, but it slows the spawn rate down (which is good, because the last things that spawn on the mission are Tier 5 gunboats). If and when the gunboats spawn - don't touch them, the player with the mission should keep well out of the fight, and if the systems on the corvette get too low, then a wingman may be required to do a suicide run (by this I mean attack as many of the gunboats as possible to draw them off the Corvette - it is likely to lead to that wingmans death, but you can repay them by doing the same with their mission ). Once the corvette gets close to the station, it will warp out and mission complete.

Fourth part - Assuming the player with the mission hasn't been killed in parts 1-3, they can then go to the station (either Rebel or Kashyyk depending on the start point) and claim their reward, which will either be the Heavy X-Wing (with 180k mass) or the Vaksai Black Sun Prototpe (which i believe is an Ixiyen with 150k mass).

Enjoy.

Does anyone know if a Freelance pilot but Imp on the ground can do the mission for the neutral craft? I need a good heavy mass ship for mining.

I think the way to get out of these is that, rather than continuing to take missions from the station, go back to the mission-giver on the ground (Eymra or whatever). Once you resume missions from him you are supposed to be on track again. (I do know that eventually he sends you to the Rebel Outpost space station to continue missions.)

I'm stuck at the first mission at the Rebel space station. The attacking ships are no big threat, but both times I have tried I haven't been able to take them out fast enough to save the escorted ship. Whenever the ship says something like "Where are you going?" I give up on the ship I'm fighting and head back to the escort ship and take on whatever is there. But the baddies just keep spawning.

After the ship blows and I fail the mission I take out all the rest of the baddies, but that is of course too late.

What I haven't been doing is just diabling them. Is that the secret?

Disabling the ships would help, but a wingman or two is better

Also if things get too hairy, you could try IFF Scrambler and see if that will slow them down.

Im in Corbantis, char "Genma Malek" and I've been trying to do it for two days now.

Im 4/3/3/3 Rebel pilot, and use an Xwing with just 4 blasters with 1150-1170~ dmg. I dont have enough mass to carry a rocket launcher, not even a counter meassure launcher.

My question is, how do you avoid the corvette fire? People say to stay below the corvette, but that doesnt work, I always get killed in matter of seconds... The escorts are quite easy, but the corvette... sigh... Why did they do such a difficult mission anyway?

I brought a friend earlier but we couldnt do a thing. The moment he tried to bring down the shields I went boom.

Any help (even in-game) would be really appreciated.

If you're stuck getting duty missions, it because you've encountered the bug with this quest. What happened is you told Eyma (or whoever the NPC on the ground is) that the enemy is weak, rather then strong (which should be fine, because they are weak to a master pilot). If you answered that they were strong then the quest continues as usual, but otherwise you're bugged. No way to get around it, except keep posting about it and /bugging it until the Devs respond. It's one of the view major quest bugs the Devs have not acknowledged yet as being a bug (but the Pilot Corr has), so keep hammering them till we get an answer.
