Thread: How to complete the Heavy X-Wing/Vaksai Mission (Rebs/Neutrals)

If you're stuck getting duty missions, it because you've encountered the bug with this quest. What happened is you told Eyma (or whoever the NPC on the ground is) that the enemy is weak, rather then strong (which should be fine, because they are weak to a master pilot). If you answered that they were strong then the quest continues as usual, but otherwise you're bugged. No way to get around it, except keep posting about it and /bugging it until the Devs respond. It's one of the view major quest bugs the Devs have not acknowledged yet as being a bug (but the Pilot Corr has), so keep hammering them till we get an answer.

After blasting some Tier 5 pirates, I took the Firespray to Kessel and tried it out on an imperial gunboat, no tactics, just went in shooting, to see how it would do. I may have survived slightly longer than I would have in the Krayt, but I don't see much of a difference.
Can anyone tell me what, if any, is the advantage to using the Firespray?
Or should I get one of my kids to take the top turret and do the thing using my YT-1300? I don't like flying a ship without pilot-controlled weapons, but would it help in this mission? (I suppose what I really need is the Vaksai, but I can't get that until I disable the Corvette.)

You fly Boba Fett's ship, that's the advantage.
Main advantage to flying the Firespray is that you have 2 ordnance slots, but the trade off is you only have 2 cannon mounts.
That, and it looks cool ![]()

I tried to disable the Corvette twice with my Krayt and got blasted away both times. So I bought a Firespray, thinking that it might be more of a tank. Imagine my surprise when the mass was only 1k more than my Krayt.

Sounds like you have a really good krayt and/or a really bad firespray....I am not in the game but from memory my krayt made with really good resources is 209k and my firsespray made with really good resources is over 213k. Just a hair over 4k differance, not a huge differance but a definatly a differance.
The other differance as another poster mentioned is the Krayt hasthree pilot controled guns, a turret, and one ordinace slot while the Firespray has two guns, no turret, and two ordinance slots. The power of space bombs combined with the relative ineffectiveness of a turret make being able to carry twice as many bombs a large advantage.

At 50% experimentation, a Kryat is 210k. Sorry to say, at 209k mass, your kryat was not made with really good resources... My Kryat is 211.5k or so, it's in the 80s for mass experimentation. However, 1-2k mass difference rarely makes a difference.
I did this mission last night. Basically all you need is a launcher with a few missiles.
Kill the fighters then park right behind the vettes engines and launch missiles/spacebombs at the shield, shield generator and then engine, you can't get shot back there.
The ship will be taken over and fighters will spawn, kill the fighters and stay away from the gunboats, let then shoot the vette all they like as they only take out the guns and cannot blow it up.
You can sit a few k away and watch the vette as it travels towards the rebel station with gunboats blasting it and doing no damage.
When you get mission complete, land on kash first to despawn the gunboats and then go to the rebel station and collect your prize.

The other night there were three gunboats pounding on my vette and took it out. They definately can damage and destroy the vette you are escorting.

Is the reward for this mission tied to your space faction?
I'm a reb on the ground and a neutral in space. Would I get the Vaksai?
But when I came up behind the Corvette, targeted the shields, and clicked to fire missiles I got the message I hadn't acquired the target. At that point I was 500 meters behind the thing...I fired a blaster shot, hoping that would do something. It did, the Corvette opened up on me, but I never could fire the missiles, and naturally got destroyed in a few seconds.
Is there a trick to getting a missile lock on this thing? I closed in on the thing until I crashed into it, but that didn't help.
