Thread: The Most Fun I've Ever Had As An Imperial

Last night I was wandering around Moenia on Naboo looking for some philosophers to kill so I could raise my thug faction to complete the missions at the Emperor's retreat when I came across a smallNPC Impreial base that was spawned as the result of someone picking up a rebel destroy mission.

Knowing that a rebel PC was coming by at some point to destroy thisImperial NPC camp, I waited (I'm overt Imperial by the way). When the guyfinally showed up and started firing on the camp,he got a little more thanhe bargained for as I incapped and DB'edhim.

I found a few more such imperial npc camps and waited for the rebels to come and in all but one case i was able to target the attacking rebel and kill him, helping out my Imperial NPC commrades and scoring some faction points to boot.

I highly recommend this to anyone who has the time to sit around an imperial NPC camp waiting for an unsuspecting Rebel PC to roll up looking for an easy mission.

I like it better when it is a group of 3 or so newbie players. I stand there overt while they are discussing their strategy for taking down all these yellow/red cons. (maybe they think I am an NPC??) they don't even seem to notice me. As soon as they start attacking and TEF goes up I nail each one of them. Great fun!

Keep in mind this was before the missions got rediculously easy, and it took a few people to take them down.

Quick question: If you are covert and attack an enemy NPC on a faction destroy mission, does that give you a TEF? Or were all the Rebels you killed overt to begin with?

Yes, that gives you a TEF... so watch out!

How does that make him an a**hole? If you see one of your buds being attacked by an opposing faction member, you help out, how is protecting your npc comrades any different? This is a WAR after all, not an episode of Dr. Phil where we should all hold hands and play nice.

Gotta agree..and I'm a newb reb...those rebels could've refused to fire and stayed safe. Once they started firing, it's legal. And rebels can do this just as easily. If you don't want to fight in the war, don't enlist.

I like the guy who called me an ass hole. Maybe this happened to you a few times and it's still a sensitive subject. I'm sorry if I touched a raw nerve with you.

But in all fairness, I didn't attack these guys in a hosptial or a cantina or anything. They were out in the open firing on Imperial Soldiers.

Would you also consider me an **edit** if I started shooting back at a rebel who was shooting at me?

Maybe you should go write a post trying to nerf fighting in SWG because people who shoot their guns are assholes.

Hi,

in partial, I like what you are doing. I know for example in another MMORPG if Clanners come into town and attack the guards, you can only stand there and look angry at them but that is all. Here in SWG, it seems that you can actively help your side, which is good.

However, I still don't like the idea of ganking n00bs. You really should get some disadvantage for doing this since even in Star Wars not everyone can run around and shoot at whatever they like. There would be normal regulations which are of course missing in these game mechanics. If you would do that to me, well... I would reclone covert as usual, be a bit upset but that would be all. Since i am overt member of my faction, I know that there are risks involved and Masterxxx which have nothing else to do as to kill poor n00bs

I would really like if people would do that to people of their own strength, but of course the game mechanics don't allow that (since you don't know what the other player's real strength is - con is not possible and the equipped weapon don't tell you something), so it will be like it is: A ganking party and the rest whines about being killed by other players.

But if you do that and being grilled by the uber faction pet of the other side (ok, you are imperial so you won't have that problem, hehe) I don't expect you to come here and whine about that then as well. If you attack a player somewhere and his pocket B-Wings eat you in return (rofl), go crying somewhere else.

That actually sounds very fun. I think it'sa lot more acceptable than the street-sweeping that takes place in various cities. At least the people who take up the missions are looking for a fight.
