Vader's character, like all others from the movies, are invincible in-game. But you do make a valid point. With buffs and good armor, we are too strong. Hopefully the HAM revamp will fix this...

yes, with the way armor, weapons, and buffs/foods are, we are entirely too strong. there are too many things in the game that can be solo'ed. and i think that once the combat balance/revamp happens, too many people will be upset that they can't solo as much stuff, and will probably leave. this is a Mulitiplayer Online Game, so the point is to make friends, and go on adventures together, as a group, not solo everything in the galaxy.

i'm surprised no one has soloed the death watch bunker yet. *rolls eyes*

Give it time.

And I agree 100% with the original poster. For the first several months I played this game, people were actually afraid to go to Endor or Dathomir. The first time I came across a Dark Jedi NPC, I couldn't get a single person in Coronet to group and try to kill it. Everyone simply replied they didn't want to die. This was when DJ NPCs were 30k HAM.

Hell, I even remember asking a small group of veteran players, when I was a noob, if we'd have a chance to kill that Plains Stalker over there, and they all responded, as though I was on crack, with a resounding HELL NO.

I disagree that the point of the game is to make friends and group. Maybe for you that's fun... but that's the REAL point of the game (just like any game): have fun. Some people don't necessarily have fun grouping and chatting with other people. I prefer to solo a lot. I interact with other players (merchants, entertainers, etc) as I need to. I prefer to solo because I can relax and play on my own schedule. If I want to stop and watch TV for a bit, or walk my dog, or do laundry, I don't have to worry about having a group of people waiting on me to get back. Likewise I dont have to wait on other people to play the game. There's no stress and I have fun. I didn't buy SWG to make friends. I have plenty of friends irl. I bought SWG to do something fun and entertaining.

Do not read that and think I'm saying I should be able to solo every mob in the game. I didn't say that. I said: I prefer to play solo. There is a difference. If I had to group to play, I'd stop playing.

I agree we are too strong, but I dont agree that they should make it impossible to solo some high-end MOBs. What I mean is, I dont just go out and solo a rancor, I go get and enraged rancor mission and spam areahit3 on the lair. I soon have 7 or 8 rancors on me which in seconds fall dead. That is being too strong. But there is a certain satisfaction to soloing and even in a multiplayer game sometimes a necessity, since you may not have friends, cant find a group, or enjoy being the lone gunman type. I remember before buffs were so popular and pets were the big thing in PvE, you did the pet pull, allowing you to draw one MOB away from the pack and fight only it. There was some challenge in that and no guarantee you would survive, but you could do it. It has got to be hard to balance things in this game, because by nature some professions will do better in certain situations than others.

As a swordsman, I will admit that in PvE I am way too overpowered. With buffs, good armor, a little brandy and canape, maybe a muon for emrgencies, there is no creature in this game that makes me reconsider attacking it (I havent tried the NS with their specials back in). I went to the Geon cave the other week though and I stayed behind to explore as my group of six pressed on and watched them slowly get whittled down, when only the week before I had gone from start to finish alone in about an hour. It is so bad that I dont even bother cloning anymore.

Some of the biggest MOBs like the krayt, NS Elder, GDK, and a few others should be to near impossible for anyone to solo. Things like rancors, NS, kimogillas, and the like should be soloable, but it should have as much failure rate as it does success. Everything else should be stepped up a bit so that they can be fun for groups and solo. What would really be nice is if lair spawn rates and rewards on missions were calculated for group size. So if you are solo, you get a 5k mission to go kill one or two rancors at each lair spawn, but if you are in a group of 10, you get a much larger spawn and more money. I kind of miss when things like bols and banthas were hard to kill.

To answer the original question, go to Dathomir and solo NS elders or the NS stronghold. Then repeat the question to yourself.

Technically, it was hard for Luke to take out the rancor because he didn't have a blaster or a lightsaber. And he wasn't trained in TKA, so he took it out as a noob brawler! He is overpowered!!!!!!!!!!

On a more serious note, it is insane how we can solo just about anything ingame. (Animal wise-now, NPC's pose a challenge to some players because they have their specials back)

Yep. Solo'n high end mobs shouldnt happen at all. It should take a group or so. I wouldnt mind seeing them drop groups down to 6 people or even 10 people.

Wait until after the combat revamp early next year. Everything from buffs to armor to weapons are going to be completely redone and rebalanced. We probably won't be able to solo half of the things we can solo now in an effort to get people to group more.

wouldnt it be a bit easier if they make the MOBS SMARTER and tougher instead of nerfign evrything which i think would take more time plz ridicule me if i am wrong LOL

I wont ridicule you but I would say the hams and resists and everything on enemies is already through the roof. But the combat revamp will make groups alot more intesting again like the old days and heck, maybe they can throw in some better AI on top of that too. Then we can actually go hunt in groups, make a camp, sit down and have somefun and regenerate before we go take another rancor. Krayts used to have only like 30k HAM i believe when the game first came out, now it is like 360k, see the difference hehe.

Sure Luke ran from a Rancor. But weren't Super Battle Droids killed with 1 blaster shot in the movies also? Hmmmmmmmm.
