the answer is yes and no....
out balance is more like it... at the end of the day a regular stormie could kill a rancor with 2 or 3 shots...
itsgame and its so complex dev havent managed to get it all in balance(despite pulling back the revamp /sigh)
other issiue is storm armouyr being only 30%resistant to about only 4 damage types and having compo 80%+ and resistant to all damage types with only sabre as its vunerability.

Only because he had buffs, canape, brandy, muon, synthsteak, and special BE clothing with 99% resist to Kinetic
Technically, it was hard for Luke to take out the rancor because he didn't have a blaster or a lightsaber. And he wasn't trained in TKA, so he took it out as a noob brawler! He is overpowered!!!!!!!!!!
And yes we are far too strong. Stuff should be soloable - I don't want this to be FFXI, but the advanced planets should have general things which would make a solo profession Master seriously consider and involve great strategy in taking down. Tougher mobs - IE things pulled in Solo Groups should require the group to focus on one mission to take down.
Buffs made it easy. When you get buffs, with armour, anything except NS's, Krayts, GDK, is /godmode to you.

Just my opinion here, but I don't really think this can be narrowed down to just being too strong, yes it seems to defy logic that with the right armor, buffs, & skills that an individual can stand in the midst of several creatures, such as Enraged Rancors and actually win the fight.....but we also have to look at the other side of it, an energy weapon weapon such as a T-21 should probably fry a nice sized hole through almost anything its shot at, I mean the practicallity of a realistic fight would be who ever gets the first shot off is probably going to win with that shot, because it shouldn't take much more than one big hole in the head to kill anything......but how fun would this game be if that was the case, and of course you could substitute nearly any combat proffession and weapon into this hypothetical.....I mean logically you would think if you got close enough to hit someone or something with a katana, it wouldn't take much more than one or two hits to put any target down......but if the game was written that way, it would be very boring when your on the winning side, and very frustrating on the loosing side.....so a sacrifice on practicallity to enhance game play seems to be a nice fit, and if you feel that you need a good challenge, take a trip to the vette with the intention of killing every red dot on the map. There are plenty of things to do out there that you simply can't solo, and plenty that you can solo, I like the idea of being able to grind my xp, and farm credits without having to drag a group along and boring everyone to tears, and yet when I really want to have fun we group up and hit the DWB, or the Vette, we used to hit the Geo-Jedi Caves too but haven't been there in a while now.
Of course thats just my opinion I could be wrong.

i dont think we are too strong. since the devs have given npc's their specials back they are as deadly as ever. when an elite master becomes a master that means they are the best in their field and should be able to take on high level mobs with a high percentage of success. peopel whine and complain saying we should be more group oriented to kill these mobs, but i personally hate to group to kill high level mobs. the loot system in this game sucks. i get so tired of ninja looters taking loot even though i did 75% of the damage. i have reached the point to where i am a high end player(master brawler/master sword/master rifle) and there isnt much for me to do on the pve side anymore. so when i kill pve its for loot, and thats the only reason. i cant get anymore experience, i cant learn anymore tricks. i just kill high level mobs looking for that rare aa/ca/exceptional weapon to become stronger. when i do that i feel i level up. but the problem is now the highend npc's that drop good loot are either camped to death(nyax/gdk/au'ukens/sister queen) or are insanly hard to beat(elders). so now we have hardly anything to kill, its pointless to kill mid level mobs for loot, high level mobs are too high level to solo, and whn we can they rarely drop anything. i wouldnt be pissing and moaning so much if there was a better loot system when we group(so the meat shield dont get it everytime), or if dungeons were instanced.
