You're very lucky your crafter was not hit if you do not give any consideration to the placement of you group...

Have the group memebers on the wall opposite the crafter (for top floor), facing the crafter, about one foot from the wall. then when the mobs spawn, the group members attackthe mobs while the crafter completes the jepack.
thx, very useful.

I tell them where to stand, but it's not as big as a factor with all the people with taunt/dominate I bring.

i've yet to do this and am a little anxious about it. this being crafting a jetpack. i hear when u put the items into the forge the npcs spawn. what's ur guys's way to keep them off the crafter but also make sure they dont do area attacks which could 1hit a crafter?
Well first time I crafted a jetpack I didn't know where to put the team to ensure the crafter wouldn't get hit. So we had one person the designated healer for the crafter who stood right next to me the whole time. I took a couple of area shots but was healed right away. It can be nerve racking but it worked. We crafted it with 4 in total with the crafter (3 jedi and me) and since one of the jedi was designated to heal me, we had one just AI and dervish to take agro as best as they could. In the end it worked and enjoying the jetpack as a result
I wish somone would post a map with the exact spawn spot so I can better coordinate the team next time. Does someone have that out there somewhere?

regardless of how you engage the mobs, the placement of the team is important to avoid area attacks

Just because you haven't had problems doesn't mean your advise couldn't result in a mission failed for someone who's in the crafting room for the first time... just saying "use dominate/taunt" is pretty vague and if I hadn't been in the crafting room myself, it would be very hard -- impossible, really -- to get a clear idea of what to expect in the crafting room or what the group should do to ensure that the crafting is successful.
